Tony Pulis is widely expected to be announced as the new manager of Plymouth Argyle on Friday morning.

The former Stoke City chief has confirmed that he has been offered the position at Home Park and that the Championship strugglers are now waiting for his signature.

Pulis was shown the exit door at Stoke in June for 'failing to implement the strategy of exploiting foreign markets for players' and it would appear he still has a few unresolved issues with his former employers.

The 47-year-old Welshman admits he is excited by the prospect of managing again, hopeful that any outstanding issues can be sorted before the weekend.

"Plymouth have offered it to me and I hope something will be sorted out within the next 24 hours,'' confirmed Pulis.

''Talks have been ongoing with Plymouth and Paul Stapleton [chairman] for a while now and I'm very hopeful of us reaching an agreement.

"We still need to sort the situation out with Stoke as I am still being paid by them, but so far they have been very good so fingers crossed.

''Plymouth are a big club and the opportunity to go there and manage in The Championship again was a big pull. It's something I am really looking forward to

Yeh i remember him up Stoke, he isn't a bad manager to be honest but i don't think he'll transform Plymouth in any way.

He's a steady manager. He won't get them relegated but he won't help them to the top 10 either.
