I do, but at the same time I don't really believe in an afterlife.

I believe theres 'something' but never seen a ghost. Seen loads of unexplained stuff..... plenty spooky.... but not enough to say "I've seen a ghost"

yeah i do believe in ghosts after experiences, and stories i've heard.

Nah, no reason to. If they existed legit cases would be in the public domain by now. But every famous ghost story is shrouded in controversy and alternative explanations.

I believe in other possibilitys though. And maybe even 'ghosts'. But they sure as hell aint interested in walking across your street mysteriously at the same time every night. Jaysus.

I know what you mean actually, I think ghosts are a kind of trapped energy

if they did, they wouldn't lurk around a creaky old cottage, they'd be spying on supermodels' changing rooms.

(my answer is no)

Where is maybe? And I really don't know. Alot of cases are proven to be hoaxes, look at the Amytville for example. Although there was that story of 'The Entity' that raped those women on that sub.

I think so, I can't say for definite, it was a corner of the eye thing.

Along with other little stuff that's happened.

I'd love to see something as clear as day in front of me :hugesmile:

No, and that's why I get so surprised at myself because movies/series about ghosts, demons, exorcisms, haunted houses fascinate me so much.

I don't, but my entire family is obsessed. They insist they lived in haunted house after haunted house until we finally moved into this one when I was 4. My parents have been paralyzed momentarily, there were bloody baby footprints going up the walls and ceilings, and my Mom fell asleep on the floor and when she woke up there was a big red clawed footprint left in her back. I tend to look for more logical explanations, and since I was either too little or not born yet to remember any of this, I just let them go along with whatever they believe.

The only weird thing that has happened to me is a couple weeks back I was staying with my cousin out of state, and we played with a Ouija board in what everyone agrees is her very haunted basement (like the dog cowers and runs away if the basement door is open) and she did the usual invocation of positive spirits, and that wasn't doing ****. So I took over and said idgaf if they're good or evil but I want some **** to go down, and then the next day their house mysteriously burned down... oops?

anyway I still don't believe

Why?

I think that if something is done over and over again repeatedly for years then it creates massive amounts of energy so then when it stops or when the person carrying it out it is no longer here then that energy surrounding it doesn't just die out straight away and continues to exhibit itself..

That seems even less likely than ghosts tbh. :umm2:

You don't think it remotely possible that there are energy imprints from massively dramatic and emotional events throughout history left in the atmosphere?

No I don't think so, if something happens, as soon as it's over then it's over, there may be evidence of it but I don't believe the intensity or frequency of something could leave some kind of echo of what happened. It just doesn't make sense..

Josy
25-05-2014, 09:41 PM
I think it makes perfect sense, maybe it doesn't make sense to you because you aren't willing to open your mind to the idea of it

Actually I read about it a few years ago and I was really open to it but I have changed my mind because I realised that it just doesn't seem plausible to me.

Not plausible eh?

Well what about this...you can have a memory from a long time ago and the slightest little thing can trigger that memory, a smell a touch a word etc, those memories never disappear so I think it's along the same lines of that, energy doesn't just disappear it's always there we just can't always see it.

Could you give an example of what might be an instance of residual energy?

Every single time someone in the world has been adamant that there is a spirit/ghost in a house moving things, turning on lights, making noise etc are examples of it.

I've never SEEN anything but I remember something so clearly.

When I was about 13 my dog died of old age. His bed used to be by the back door and when he was sleeping there if he dreamed he was running and did that leg movement thing dogs do, his feet would scrape against our metal bin, making a distinct scratching noise.

Anyway the end of that week I stayed up late to watch WWE Raw live on Sky (so like after 1am). I was just lying on the sofa watching the tv when all of a sudden I just felt really like emotional, like so happy I was almost crying. Then all of a sudden I heard the scratching noise about 3 times and that was it. No more noise and odd feeling went away. I still think it was my dog coming back to say "goodbye" to me as I wasn't here when he died.

Sounds stupid but IDK it comforts me in some way.

I've been told though by my Grandad's old next door neighbours that they can still hear him laughing now and then and coughing (he had a bad smoker's chest) and he passed away almost 4 years ago now.

Not sure about "ghosts" but there's something...

Buildings built on limestone have the possibility to record things (sounds, images) and play them back.

It's limestone what was used for Video tape and cassettes to record sounds and images and then play them back.

These sounds or images can do no harm to you and won't even acknowledge you, so there's nothing to fear.

Now you decide whether I'm a science genius or just full of sh*t.

Yep! They said when we we clearing out his house after he passed, we had to do some little painting jobs so we had the windows open overnight to get some air in and stuff. His neighbour came back from work about 10pm when the house was locked and he said as he was getting his stuff out of the car he could hear my Grandad laughing in the kitchen, very faint but he swears he heard it.

They're heard more and more since even though there's new people living there. Creepy eh? Least he sounds like he's having a good time whatever he's doing lol.

Shadows come in three basic varieties. First are the little ones that feed off the energy in negative emotions. If you are emitting strong negativity, they will be drawn to you like flies to rotten meat. If you aren't magically protected, they will happily latch onto your energy field (aura) and snack on it. They are usually not much more troublesome than leeches or mosquitoes; however, a thousand leeches could weaken a person severely.

Next come the more dangerous variety, more like rats or vultures than mosquitoes. These are attracted both by negative emotions and the energy of magical workings. They are stronger, and can push past weak or flawed defenses to get to you. And they are much harder to peel loose once they have their teeth into you.

Last are the intelligent variety. Their favorite meal is human life energy, the 'heart-fire' that burns in each of us. They are relatively rare even in their own realm, but they exist. The terms 'Imp' , 'Evil Spirit' and 'Demon' are fairly accurate. They are very strong. The more intelligent ones are capable of working their own Magic to breach your defenses. The most intelligent variety , being as lazy as humans, prefer to talk you into dropping your defenses and linking your energy field to theirs. ("Open yourself to me, and I will grant you power beyond your wildest dreams." Yeah, right.) They also are capable (if someone is helpful enough to open a doorway for them) of entering our world. Once here, if they can get past all your defenses unless you are very strong at warding. They can enter your body and feast at will, even asserting a degree of control over you. Yes, this is exactly like the old stories of Demon possession.
