Im sure every one here heard of the RATM/X Factor Christmas charts battle, so i was thinking what about if we start a campaign similar to that. the ratm group didnt even have 1 million fans and bb has at least 3 million viewers, so if we get a group going, people could join and then word could spread and hopefully the theme tune could be number one! we need to give big brother a proper send off! lets try this! Get on twitter and let's get it sorted

I made a thread on this ages ago and was told by Harry that the single isn't avaidable anymore.

The only way it could work is if they re-released Element 4 to download or buy and I can't see that happening sadly.

Would be a good way to send it off though and im sure everyone would take part, seeing as everyone loves Element 4 regardless of their opinion on Big Brother itself.

If that's the case then let's email element 4 in our hundreds nothing like a little peer presure

It would never, ever work, and it's stupid to assume it could. And Rage Against The Machine have millions of fans, far more than Big Brother UK.

When first released in 2000 it charted a quite good 4 in the UK Charts. It would chart lower then that nowadays and would NEED a music video to go along with it as music videos are very inportant nowadays.

Plus you have the stigma of it being Big Brother related. And the fact that only the hardcore fans would care. And the fact that just because 3 million people watch the show doesn't mean 3 million people would buy the single. Plus the fact that they are not going to start reproducing singles of it just because a few people on a forum wanted it.

Hardcore fans really need to stop assuming the outside world cares as much about BB as they do. It's a heart warming show of enthusiasm and all that but it's about as far from a realistic idea as you could possibly get.

Emailing does not have an impact on the UK Charts.

The Theme itself is good though, If you look on Youtube alot of the coments are actually from haters of BB who say they just like that theme.

Personally I never even knew who RATM were until December but then again they are an old band, so I wouldn't know.

But yeah like you said it would never work, because they havent released the song for download again, which I think they should.

I mean the Music Video for it is horrible.. But Element 4 did do well in 2000 on the charts and that was without a little group to back it up.. so it could do it again, all it takes is for Endemol or whoever, to re-release it.

There is a Music Video for it though.. like I said its crappish though, and it would need updated.

You have to think also, Would Paul Oakenfold allow it to be re-released again? I think not.

The reality is though it's been around for 10 years now. Just because it charted back then, and just because people like the song, does not entitle it to a fair shot at number 1. It would struggle to crack the top 40 and the campaign would end in embarrasment.

How come?

Personally, I think it needs updated tbh just for this series I mean CBB7's Orchestra was good but even if its not re-released I would love if they did a Remix Version or just did a little somthing to the Theme Tune for this year.

Paul Oakenfold produced the theme tune therefore holds rights to the song.

Harry! your so negative lol!

Why not try and get it in the top40?

And so what if the campaign ends in embaressment its not as if we are running for president. Its just light hearted thing we could do to send BB out with a bang.

We dont need 3milion people to buy it. To get a song to number 1 these days only needs up to 10,000 sales i believe.

It's just called being realistic. The single will never be produced again, let alone chart.

Sorry i meant 18,000 sales to get a number one.

You need roughly 3/4,000 sales to break into te top 40.

And . HOW DO YOU KNOW?

Hardcore BB fans are cabaple of anything man.

And you do sound big headed

Because (Being a M fan) I knew that Celebration [single] that charted at number 3 got over 30,000 sales in its first week of charts.

To be fair, I'm not the one claiming to be capable of mobilising a movement that can get a national number one.

If common sense makes me big headed, then I'm happy .

Lets do it!!! Getting it into the Top 40 even will be brilliant!! But we should do this the first week of BB11, not now, so we can show haters its still sucessful. It is possible, to chart at 40, you need how many? a few thousand?

RATM are crap in my opinion, I think we should use a better band like Metallica then maybe it could happen.
I'd love to hear Fade to Black or Nothing Else Matters.
