View Full Version : Big Brothers launch twist

Big Brother is planning its biggest launch night ever! the big twist is that 100 people will be fighting
for a place live on air!
Davina her self will be gathering 100 candidates at Elstree studio.
All 100 will have passed medical, police and psychological tests and been told they might become housemates.
When they are all together, Davina will tell them they face a special task.
This challenge will be kept secret until launch night.
The first 16 applicants to pass this test will win a place inside the big brother house and the rest will be sent home.
According to the Daily Star their mole said “This is the biggest stunt that producers have ever pulled off.
“Bosses have unearthed what they think are 100 potentially good housemates.
“But none of them has got a guaranteed place on the show. It’s going to be a tough battle.”
Last night a spokesman for the show would only say: “This may be the end but there are still a few more surprises in store.”
This grand series will last just over 13 weeks which is the longest series ever!

Seems to me like fake. It's just like BB10's twist, but with 100 people. No thanks.

This.
I really hope this is just a rumor that holds no truth.
Absolutely no chance!
They all might be good HMs but like they would risk ending up with 16 same sex or same personality, they pick HMs that go well together not just a random mix and cross their fingers, they could do it with 1 but 16 no chance.
They're not that stupid ... oh god I hope the're not that stupid.

24-05-2010, 02:59 AM
They might divide the 100 people into groups of 15, each of them a balanced mix of male/female, normal/crazy, pretty/ugly, whatever, and one group wins and gets to go in? who knows!

if it is true, it's a very bad idea for so many reasons! we want diverse and different people on the show.

gotta agree with this? unless they've been given a massive budget for the last series i doubt this OP sorry :cat:

That would be so much work for them to keep everyone updated. I'm sure they would want a specific certain number of people which they have researched properly. They would have to edit 100 vt's. I do think there will be some kind of competing to get in possibly but not on that massive scale!

You can't tell 100 people to quit their job for a slim chance to get on a TV show. This is the daftest rumour of the season.

Also "This grand series will last just over 13 weeks which is the longest series ever!".
That comment was made up by a Star hack who hasn't even watched the show since BB6, if at all.
The Daily Star are so contradictory. It was just yesterday that they said that Welsh TV presenter had made the final shortlist of 25 candidates...

BB10 was nearly 14 weeks actually. So this can't be the longest series.

It worried me when I first read about this twist, as it would be a disastrous idea IMO. However, since this has come from the Daily Star I don't think we have anything to worry about.
I can't remember the Star being accurate about anything in the past, so hopefully they won't start now.

Maybe the truth is.. about 14 go in on launch night who are already the "chosen" ones and the 100 potential applications will fight for their place in the house and only 1 gets to go in?
janaddy86
24-05-2010, 04:05 PM
Would they really have 100 people lined up, possibly packed in their jobs, with a maybe 1 in 5 chance of going into the house?

Naptor is correct on this one. If the chosen HMs are not in isolation/seclusion now they will be within days at most.

It is ridiculous and a complete waste of time. Firstly the idea completely sucks and secondly, what a way to ruin the build-up/interest in Launch Night, I enjoy the usual Launch format and they should leave it at that.
But really, what is this about the GOLDEN TICKET BEING FIXED!
serensilver
24-05-2010, 08:09 PM
I dont think BB would risk it. i mean if it is the case we could end up with 14 women and 2 guys! or all people over 60! All white people or all black or all indian etc it wouldnt be politically correct they just wouldnt do it!
Vicky.

Why isn't there more of a discussion on this? This is MASSIVE. So basically, they USE the guinea pigs, throw them out and nobody has much of a chance in hell. What if this actually is true? What if the number isn't 100 but less?

dont get how people are saying they might all be boring people dont forget its not 100 random people its 100 people hand picked by bigbrother for having god knows what character defects lol
and the all men or all women thing is easily fixed first 8 men first eight women past the line are in
and as for the how do they keep the contestants secret or jobs and stuff one phone call solves that
big brother" hi are you available on the ?? of june? great your entered in a contest with 100 others to try get in the big brother house if we see your name in the paper we drop you and pick one of the other 1000s of people who wanted to get on bigbrother"

Its been said on BBBM, BBLB by Davina and George and also in other BB10 News stories last year that this series was 14 Weeks long.
Although BB8 remains the longest series, I hope BB11 makes it to Day 100.

It all depends on how you define 14 weeks doesn't it?
So the Star may well be correct and not be bollocks.

can't see them having 100 candidates kept in hiding - it would be chaos on the night, we'd never see all the vids and so would have no idea who to support - during the task?
The biggest flaw is, has others have pointed out, you would not get a balanced house between m/f - the bb8 all female start was the perfect example of why you have to have a balance house!
I suspect it is just a hoax imo. If they were going to have some random selection method, you would have 20 or so competing for 16 spots - no deadwood (you could end up with absolutely anything from the final 100 - there is a reason they usually whittle them down to 14 etc!!) and much easier to control and follow what is going on and get a good look at each.
