Nuke the lot of them. Ditto for 'scene' kids.
Wearing tight red pants and four different colour rosary beads doesn't make you endearing, it makes you an attention seeking tool.

people who claim to be indie are just not indie
i like mostly indie music but i hate being called indie. It's now some sort of fashion statement to be indie and were i live most people are or try to be indie, its quite amusing
I love looking up these terms on Urban Dictionary. It's hillarious how desperate these teens are to define themselves and label themselves. To the outsider it's somewhat degrading, and ironically highly unoriginal.
Just try typing 'Indie Kid' or 'Scene Kid' into Urban Dictionary and you will be met with dozens of people having wars with each other over what or what not constitutes 'official' fashion styles and what not for them, like it's some centralized organisation with it's own uniform.
Apparently, Indie Kids are in a war with Emo's because Emo's 'stole' the converse.
Really?
I mean ... really?

I don't even know what indie is.
The fashion seems to be a hybrid of trendy and emo. The music is a mixture of electronic and rock. It's nothing original in terms of those aspects.
But there is definitely a mindset that goes along with it - the kind of impressionable and attention-seeking followers who're desperate to both be cool and different. In terms of school cliques and the such of the past 50 years or so, where music and fashion have played a strong role on teenagers, the cliques have either been very cool but very samey, or the different kids who are outcasts.
So now they've come together, it seems everyone is trying to customise their clothes and wear vintage **** and listen to unheard-of bands. I don't get it. Just be yourself, and what you feel comfortable in. I buy clothes from Primark and explore music keenly. 'ark at me.

I thought they were "Emo" LOL
Yeah it's the mentality and attention seeking clothes that bothers me, not so much the natural image.
I grew out of taking the piss out of people with long hair when I was eight.

I'm doing that now:P
You are a Skater! You go on the rule ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ Skater culture stays the same – as long as there is concrete to grind, trainers to ruin and rock to rock to. You like the implicit rebellion of skating in the urban jungle – and regularly record your stunts to show other skaters what you’re up to – but you would run a mile if you saw the police heading to your latest spot. You don’t want no trouble.
Yeah dude!
You can add your own tribe and view all the other ones at the end including chav, techie, and PC world.
Yes, PC world.

Says i'm a Scene kid :/ Although there were some pretty dodgy choices lol
You are a Scene Kid! Your hair is your life – it moves from blonde and spiky, to jet black and asymmetric and on to a neon pink beehive, sometimes all in the same day. You need to update your look when you’re moshing at three or four shows a week and documenting it for your public on MySpace, after all. Clothes-wise, you stick with a formula – superskinny jeans and a kiddy tee. Let the hair do the talking.

Ugh, I got Indie Kid. The examples they give are insufferable.
You are an Indie Kid! There’s nothing like the twang of a guitar to get your Converse tapping. Indie Kids are part of a mass – whether that means swaying with their friends at a gig, commenting on Drowned in Sound’s message board or trawling through band profiles on MySpace for the next exciting sound. It’s amazing what can still be done with a guitar, you know.

Oh fan****ingtastic. I'm "an indie scenester". <_<
You are an Indie Scenester! You are at the forefront on the indie scene – you know all the major players. You’re always ahead of the game – moving on to the next thing once everyone joins in. You like to look good and your icons go beyond the centrefold of the NME – your current look is James Dean meets Grace Jones. Just wait – everyone will be wearing it in a year’s time.
You are a Chav! No one likes you but you don’t care. Why would you when you have a high street to hang about on? Grab a bunch of your mates and put in some mooching time, with a bucket of KFC for company. With your matching uniform of trackie pants, Reebok Classics, and gold jewellery, chav isn’t something you grow out of: this is your tribe forever.
Hahahahahahahahahaha.

LOL
You are a Street Rat! You’re always out and about, ducking and diving, trying to make a few quid. To do that, there’s a lot of hanging about on park benches, drinking a can of Tesco’s own lager and smoking your last fag – while getting in the face of any innocent bystander that happens to go by. The back of the bus is another hang out – the perfect place to listen to three year old drum’n’bass tunes on your mobile.
Fashion is all about association and disassociation. It is also a business. You walk into Primark and see a t-shirt there with a frog on it. Nobody is going to buy it. You walk into Dior and people will buy that same t-shirt for £70. Fashion is an exploitation of morons as far as I'm concerned.
I'm an Indie Kid.
Someone blows my brains out please.

You are a boy racer!
But you prefer to be called a street racer. This gang live for their cars, but not just any cars mind. The mean machines (bought for under a tenner on ebay and souped up with a full years salary) need all the trimmings, a hot babe and crucially a sound system hooked up for maximum bass, how else do you make a car park sound like a club?
You are also showing signs of being a sports junkie and a rah.
LOL
That is so wrong on so many levels, im indescribable.

*Dies* Joe even predicted this :'(
You are a Rah! There’s nothing like a good gaffaw on the young society scene for one’s weekend. Head up to Henley in the 4 x 4 with a bunch of mates from Bristol. It’s all about having fun right now, but you’ll ask Daddy to put the feelers out for that job in the city on Monday. There’s plenty of time when one is young, no?
I also show signs of being a boy racer & a sports junkie - LOL as if!

You are a Techie! There’s nothing like a new bit of computer programming to make your day. You create some new code approximately every half an hour and revel in the new cool status of geeks due to our communal love of tinternet. Hot girls talk to you and ask you to set up their sites and everything. All hail web 2.0.

You are a Hipster! Unless they’re part of your gang, be prepared for no one to know what you’re talking about – you’re at least a year ahead of everyone else’s grasp of what’s cool and your mates are all in bands. You’re great at talent spotting - whatever the industry. You believe in O2’s “connecting people” slogan when it comes to your mobile and you’re a master at networking a room. Especially if it’s in Shoreditch.
Score?

You are a Trackie! Your fashion choices are limited: stick to the track suit trousers and New Era cap – it’s classic. As for work, you like a money-making scheme or two, as long as they don’t require too much brain power, bruv. You’ve got all that Grand Theft Auto to play, after all.
Lame... i don't wear trackies often got 1 pair of trackies.. jeans all the way :P lol

People who label themselves are pretentious little t**ts and they can all go and die in my opinion. If you say you're a 'chav' you're not. If you say you're 'indie' you're not. You're a pathetic insecure waste of sperm. Just my opinion.
I listen to every type of music imaginable, I dress differently every day (Usually jeans a rolled-sleeve shirt though), have fairly long hair (sort of based on Noel Gallaghers but with a longer fringe) and hate being labelled. I am who I am.
EDIT: Just done that test
You are a Townie! Your job might be a bit boring but it brings home the bacon and helps you save up for those two weeks away to Spain. Your weekends are set in stone – trip to the shops in town, buy yourself something nice, head to the All Bar One with friends, have a laff, maybe go for a club, as long as there’s none of the indie weirdo music. Keep it straight, you say.
Meh, could be worse I suppose.
