London Met!
It's a very drama/dance focused course & involves a lot of singing so it's pretty perfect for me.

yes

experience of folks who go to uni and study for degrees with little chance of employment at the end (ie most)

reality is cruel

LT is right really, it's harsh but true. I've known a few people who've ended working ****ty jobs with degrees. Some people just go for the life

Yeah your right.. and with the recession and all. Some uni students go.. go for a piss up and just scrape a degree out of it then lazy when a full on job comes along.. mmm.

correct

there are no jobs waiting these airy fairy degrees

in tv, film and media the jobs have already been snapped up by eager folks who are not going to uni. ironically.

tv, film and media is on the rise though!! it is EVERYWHERE! There will be plenty of jobs.. maybe more so with the "runner jobs". You probs don't get a lot of money but it sounds fun :D

And yourself?

I completed a masters but would have been better (in media) to have just went for a job after school. Being an expert in cross sectional data analysis did not gain me the advantage perhaps it should.

I dont think 12 hours of lectures a week was a good use of anyones time..

Well - you might have a point there - but a degree is a degree - it demonstrates a certain amount of ability - no matter what the subject! It can never be a hindrance!

it is if it means that your contemporaries have 3-4 years of job experience on you

Tarantino is a twisted genius. I love the bloke. Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite films.

I'm at the stage where I should be going to open days/narrowing down which uni I want to go to. Looking at Worcester to study Business management, basically to keep my options open and have a student lifestyle for 3/4 years. If there were any jobs going in a bank, I'd definitely drop out of college and work there though. Worked at HSBC for work experience in year 10, absolutely brilliant it was!

Ahh that's cool, just go on as many open days as you can, I'm glad I did or I'd have ended up in the wrong uni.
