There's a rumour doing the rounds that Davina McCall's new show, The Million Pound Drop, is in fact a big set-up, and that all the contestants are actually Big Brother 2010 housemates. We've only caught a few minutes of the programme and didn't think much of it. But we wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is a massive PR prank from Channel 4...

So is The Million Pound Drop a fake show? Are all the contestants featured on it actually future Big Brother housemates?

We contacted Channel 4 who refused to comment on whether or not the rumour was true.

Does that mean they've got something to hide? If it really was bull**** then they'd want to come out and say so.

Yeah, I read this earlier. It's quite strange that they don't want to comment. This is probably the strongest supporting evidence we have now.

I think I'll be disappointed if it's true, because I'd have rather it been kept a secret and no one have worked it out.

maybe theyre refusing to comment so that people still tune into mpd hoping they're bb contestants? just to get ratings up

Okay, just suppose the braindead contestants on Million Pound Drop are future housemates, what is the point of it?

To introduce them to us? BORING! I couldn't give a sh** how they perform on Million Pound Crap, and it'll all be forgotten about when BB11 actually starts.

A stupid and pointless exercise. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...

"If it really was bull**** then they'd want to come out and say so."

Who on earth wrote that?

If they come out and deny it, that's it, no more column inches for BB and MPD. By refusing to comment, they keep increase the speculation whilst not actually lying.

Basic PR....

You all realise if this is true, The contestants will ALL Know eachother.

They will go in as pairs and know eachother weither they are a couple, sisters or brothers or best friends.

PLUS they all spent a day with eachother before going on air.

It is best for C4 to not say anything as speculation is great for them.

Although i am pretty sure it has nothing to do with BB.

Nahh i cant see that being true, there probs not commenting because it gets people talking about big brother and makes people want to watch the show to see if its true. :)

But if it is i would be very disappointed because they will know each other and there wont be any awkward first moments :(

So the whole premise of Million Pound Drop is fake, its not about winning a million pounds its about winning a place in the house, is that what you think is going on?

Ever think how many complaints Ofcom would get about channel four if it turned out to be the case? Would Ofcom fine Channel four for broadcasting what turned out to be a con. It obtained audiences by deception.

To not deny nor confirm a link with BB simply increases speculation and potentially the audience for MPD, thats all.

No offence.. but I don't want to see ANY of the MPD contestants go into the BB house.
