Elvis was a phenomenon but nah, I was never a huge fan of his. He'd be Tom Jones right now if he had stayed alive, nothing more... well actually, alot more: they'd have had to wheel him onto the stage in the MGM.

Yes, and everyone of them a load of shi%e too. Popularity doesn't necessarily mean greatness to me, and don't forget that he hardly wrote any of his own material, which is a huge factor when I try to gauge an artist's legacy. Give me Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly or Roy Orbinson over him any day of the week when you're talking about that period of popular music.

 Its funny, because its very true. Never heard of him anymore, then he dies, and all of a sudden he has 5 songs or so in the top 40?

Then again, noone though heath ledger was an AMAZING actor until he died either...

setanta
29-05-2010, 02:12 PM
Oh, Heath Ledger was an excellent actor prior to the Dark Knight, which really has helped to cement his reputation as a man with a huge amount of talent. That's the tragedy: he had a great future ahead of him.

And he should have won best actor for Brokeback Mountain. So good in that film.

Why? Because it has something like a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 01% chance of creating a black hole? :P

Yes and it is a waste on money, In my opinion they wont find that Higus partical which they said is a vital evidence of how the universe was created. The UK's taxpayers money (Over 25 million pounds) went to that LHC thing without our premission. Grrr whenever I see pictures of it is annoys me greatly.

Of course it isnt a waste of money, just think how many of those science types it keeps occupied and out of our faces. Plus if it goes wrong they are already buried and it may take out a sizeable chunk of France and Switzerland.

Just think though if they do find the Higgs bosun particle it would send most religious organisations into a spin trying to rewrite their basic theologies inline with scientific evidence. Or then again maybe not. LT would just post saying it was all fictitious.

£25mil is really not that much. Think about how much money people waste on the lottery each week, for example. Funding something as revolutionary as this is a good thing.

But there're plenty others still alive - Aretha, Kate Bush, Diana Ross, Joni, Carole King...okay not many

9 weeks at number one in the UK and the first single to sell over two million copies. Was for a long time the UK's best selling single until outsold by Band Aid however it still remains the Uks best selling non charity linked single.

Now if you had said the frog chorus you may have had a point.

What risks?

Black holes? Micro black holes evaporate instantly. In fact, they are produced constantly due to natural high energy phenomenon in our own atmosphere. Our atmosphere is constantly bombarded by solar particles, which are much higher energy collisions than those produced by the LHC.
