I have just found out that it is a BH today as my PO is shut, the schools are not shut and neither is anything else apart from I guess the bank.
Wtf is a BH?
its like double period of Sunday for most. In Scotland we dont really do them. I dont have a holiday and neither does anyone who runs their own business.
Do you agree ?
Niamh.

A lazy but thorougly stupid Scotsman. From 1976 and up until 2006 the English had the same number of Bank Holidays as the Scottish had public and local holidays. These are called statutory holidays.
However in 2006 the St. Andrew's Day Bank Holiday (Scotland) Act 2007 was passed making 30th November a public holiday.
So if you want extra days off best get back up to Scotland.

No I likey. Monday is like Sunday but without the religious nonsense attached.
But yeah, I think basic needs like post offices and banks should be forced to open. We still need money and mail ffs.

I feel like a heroin addict. All the shops are closed and I've run out of booze. Or maybe I feel like an Alcoholic O.o

Then move to Scotland shops that sell booze dont close for bank holidays or local holidays. Plus we get an extra days holiday each year courtesy of good old St Andy. All the local post offices were open today up here.
The offys and supermarkets stop selling booze after 10 now in Ireland :(.
Think I'm going to have a nice sober week and booze up for the BB launch. I stopped smoking weed [again] so I'm on speaking terms with cheap cans of lager [again] :).

Yeah some jobs can be like that ASDA and Tesco's stay open bank holidays as do a lot of shops.
But doesnt change the fact Scotland get an extra statutory holiday over England. So if stating the truth is being pedantic, hey ho, call me pedantic. ROFLMFHAO.

It does change the fact that I'm not as dumb as you suggest.
They are rubbish indeed. Went down to Waitrose earlier, forgetting it was bank holiday. They were closed and I was pissed off.
