I hate it when mods close threads without saying. Threads are being closed left, right and centre. They just get closed and are left to rot. I think I'd be nice if they were to say...

'This thread is... ...and therefore it's best if it's closed. Sorry.'

How hard is that?

They're closed for a reason. They usually close it without a comment, but then add in a comment later. And they have any right to close the threads.

Have they been deleting threads? I have noticed that various threads I've posted in suddenly disappear, and I was later unable to locate them in my history.

But if its obvious then its pointless.


And some need to actually be deleted so you cant leave a reason for them.

I agree, I think it's rude sometimes when a thread is closed with no explanation and to the ordinary member it looks like it's been closed for nothing.

Depends. With some it's very obvious and you expect them to be closed at any moment, rightly or wrongly. But there are cetainly some that need a word of explanation. And some that should just be closed but left to view for a while.

I don't see why threads are closed, or posts deleted, because of arguments - as long as nobody is being insulting! Debate and arguments are only to be expected - seems very small-minded to me! I don't think most are bothered by other's arguments - they just ignore them, and carry on with their own conversation - it isn't as if we can hear them and are distracted by the noise! Seems a bit too dictorial - and power-mad to me!
