If they include Heskey and not him...

Walcott is useless.
Jayson

Bent's out too
Sooo annoyed about Theo though, I mean sure he's had a really rubbish season but he's better than Lennon and SWP imo.

Geez!!!
Walcot?? and bent?
If heskey is included fabio wont be as loved i dont think..
I had a feeling he would be dropped
SWP is a much better Option then Walcott better footballing brain and Lennon has performed better then Walcott throughout last season

Problem is internationally walcott seems to still perform better than both.
Walcott will have a good year next season i think.. hes maturing the others are 24/25 and 28 hes only what 20 - 21..
SWP Knows how to control the ball and he is better at crossing then Walcott, walcott seems to be scared of taking defenders on as well but SWP just skips past them

Lennon and SWP are way better than Walcott IMO:thumbs:.
Won't be impressed if Heskey is included when Darren Bent isn't.
1600: Breaking news: The seven England players to miss out on a World Cup place are: Leighton Baines, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker, Adam Johnson, Theo Walcott, Darren Bent.

ENGLAND'S 2010 WORLD CUP SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green.
Defenders: Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock
Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Forwards: Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney
Brad.
01-06-2010, 03:10 PM
I would go with a starting XI of;
---------------------------Hart
--Johnson--------Ferdinand---Terry--------A.Cole
--Wright-Phillips---Barry-------Lampard----J.Cole
------------------Rooney----Crouch
---------------------------James
--Johnson--------Ferdinand---Terry--------A.Cole
--Wright-Phillips---Gerrard-------Lampard----J.Cole
------------------Rooney----Crouch
Gerrard and Rooney are the Key to Success in this tournament
Liverpool's Key player and United's key player.. you couldn't write a better script

Hart
Johnson________Terry________Ferdinand________Cole
SWP________Gerrard________Lampard________Cole
Rooney________Defoe

The only reason Heskey is going is that he combines well with Rooney and can hold the ball up more effectively than Bent.

I agree Walcott s been **** the last few England games, got no balls! Ive always been a fan of SWP

Carrick is going? He's been shi%e all season and Barry is still dodgy at moment with his fitness, right? That's strange. Thought Parker had a chance there.
But nah, Walcott shouldn't be going.
Walcott is crap compared to Lennon, I picked the right 23 except I would have took A.Johnson :/ Gives us something different.

SWP has more pace and isn't afraid of going past players. He shows a lot of determination when he's playing, ie; the Japan game.
I don't know too much about Johnson but I think the element of surprise he offers could also be emulated by SWP.

Well Andy, if they play in the formation you've chosen for them against the States they wont be laughing afterwards.

you didn't play well against japan at all though tbf :p
johnson is quality, whilst he played for boro whenever he ran at our defence i sh*t myself. can't believe he wasn't picked

As a team we didn't play well against Japan, especially in the first half but SWP showed some creativity and flare on the left side of midfield during the second half.
I don't think Johnson would be up to the task of taking on experienced international defenders, whereas SWP's pace gives him a big advantage.
Heskey was chosen because he combines with Rooney very well and he can be a bit of a handful at times. However, I do know what you mean because his goalscoring record is poor for club and country.
I wonder if SWP or Lennon would have missed out if Becks would fit

Bottle of Becks would be better - explain to me your penalty drill again? ITV said they practise after every training session.
Barry is still limping, probably wont even play a game. Should have took Johnson :@

Bothroyd could easily make it into that team, not saying that from bias, plenty of random England supporters have said it.

Apart from the fact he plays in the Championship and isn't the type of player to make the step up to Premier League football which would be required for any chance in the England squad.

We still managed a win, even when we were playing poorly. The whole performance of the team was stifled in a way because of the amount of players who were playing cautiously, trying not to make a mistake (impressing the manager). So, the football we were playing wasn't the same flowing stuff we usually play.

Are you being ****ing serious. He's premiership waiting to happen, the only reason he's still here is because Dave Jones is like a father to him, the only manager who's actually got the best out of him. I hope to god we keep hold of him, but he's too good for this league and he's guaranteed to go to a top Premiership side. You've never watched him play properly, I watch him week in week out - he's mesmerising to watch. Give him 4 years he'll be one of the best players in this country.

If Eddie Johnson made their final squad he'd have sh*t all over England's defence. Can't understand why he didn't make it.

You can't predict how far he will or won't have progressed over a period of 4 years. Even by then, he will be 32, which is a little on the old side for the national team.
You're right, I don't know a lot about Bothroyd but if he's still in the Championship at 28, then I'm afraid he's past it in terms of England prospects. However, it is likely that he will be playing for a Premier League team in a few years time. To be honest though, I could only see him getting into a team like Wolves, Stoke, Bolton, etc - one of the middle-to-lower end teams in the League.

Ha, you think I care now? Was gutting at the time but now I know we're going to storm the league next season, Craig Bellamy will rape every defence put in his way.
And Blackpool will be laughing stocks in the Premiership, they'll lose 10-0 every week.

I think yer problem is that yez hype it up as being winners rather than conteders - I know German, Dutch and Spanish friends are playing chances low - they do not rate their team so highly.

It's because only now he's actually got the best out of himself. He's had attitude problems in the past, that's why Arsenal chucked him out, at the time he was labelled as the next big thing. Then he went to a *****load of clubs and had the same problem, that's why he's in this league at this age - he's finally sorted that problem out. He came here and everyone's been watching him, he's been linked with some top sides and to say he's only good enough for a team like Wolves is harsh when you've never seen him at his best.
And 32 years old is too old for the National team? Remind me, how old is Heskey again?
Setanta will line up with Glen Johnson and Carrick up front against the USA and still beat them, they are ****e!
They are better then Ireland though i suppose

It might come to that. Rooney is still dodgy, Defoe is shi$e for England, Heskey is injury prone. Oh, this could be good.

Carrick is so lucky to get in the squad and Heskey too... although whats impressive is that theres almost 2 players for each positions and can play some in different positions.
Still a lot of work for the players to do before the hard work starts and although some choices are debatable going to wish the players selected well and trust them:thumbs:.
