To flip the coin to give my positive comments on Gaga. I do think she is a talented artists and has produced great songs. She is quite well known now so that will be good for her in the future. And she is doing things that not many female artists are doing at the moment which is also good for her setting some backbone in the music world today.

I just see a very short expiry date and do not see her in the same amount of time Madonna has been around (Almost 30 years).

Point #1 - most recognised? I don't think so. There're probably plenty who have barely heard her name. Madonna's much more synonymous with worldwide stardom, simply by longevity proxy.

Point #2 - digital sales have been going for about 5 years...that's not much of an accolade. Madonna's sold 200 million records. GaGa isn't even on the list of bestsellers.

Point #3 - Her 'fashion' is silly, and not just that, it's a total ****ing ripoff. She's not remotely creative - for her ALBUM cover for starters she stole David Bowie's Ziggy-stripe and other than that all she's really done is wear next-to-nothing and a few stupid headpieces. Bjork, Grace Jones, Tori Amos, countless fashionistas (Vivienne Westwood, anyone?) have been doing that for decades.

Point #4 - Well let's see about 10 years.

Point #5 - Barack Obama is the biggest celebrity kiss-ass since Tony Blair; Elton John is wheeled out for any old slut (Pete Doherty at Live 8, anyone?) and Diversity have performed for the Queen...

This isn't a debate, Madonna has had a longer and more impactful career then Gaga for the moment. She's also managed to re-invent herself to stay relevent to the times and was a cultural phenomenom.

I can see where your coming from, and I don't think I'd ever say she was the greatest artist ever.

And what does that say about her exactly? Behind it all she's never been this "quirky". In fact, watch all of the vids of her performing in local bars and clubs. She looked rather normal. And when she first hit stardom, she was never as outrageous as she looks now. She is just one big phoney and I'm not falling for it. :)

Well the bubble one could be done on the cheap. Just get a load of free condoms and blow em up to different sizes. The black pvc thing could cheaply recreated too.

I just think money allows her to have others make them with a quality finish and free's up her time. Plus she thinks bigger now coz she has a bigger stage.
