So, a couple of months ago, me and my family went to my cousins 30th birthday party, it was fancy dress. My cousins family from Italy just moved there and have been living here ever since, and they cant speak a word of English.
Ever since that moment, my cousins friends brother has been looking at my sister. He was checking her out way too much at the party...
So now months on, we recieve a phonecall on the hosue phone today ata round 2pm, he says that he wants to speak to her, he was speaking Italian, and I told her she is not in. When my sister found out, she called my cousin and said "Why did you give him my number, Im not interested" but she was just laughing, my cousins sort of immature for a 30 year old.
Well anyways, he phoned up again at 4pm, 5pm *which my sister purposely didnt answer) and then 7pm where my Dad asked "Who is this?" and he just said "A friend of hers" . Thing is they have never spoken in their lives, he just saw her, got he rnumber off my cousin and became obsessed. At 7:30pm he left a message on the answering machine saying in Italian "I want to have a meal with you and we can get to know each other, we will meet at the cousins coffeshop she owns"
And just 5 minutes ago, he just called again, my Dad got annoyed this time, its 10:30pm and people shoulnt be ringing house phones at this time. If my cousin was to hand it out, she could have at least given her the mobile number. So as she is out I have told her and shes started to feel really worried, he wont stop ringing.
You need to step in and knock his block off Salv

She feels embarassed to phone him back because she doenst want to be put in this situation, she has no interest in him, and my cousin just got into her business. Phoning at 10:30pm on a home phone though.... WTF get the message,

He doesn't sound so much like a stalker - as a pain in the arse that won't take no for an answer!
Tell him you know the Italian mafia.

Theres only one thing to do in this situation..
*Hands Salv a pair of sissors and looks at the phone cable*
Seriously though, I would call the police if it gets worse they could stop it or even change your number.. which is abit unfair I mean you shouldn't be FORCED to especially because its your house phone, everyone will loose contact with your household.
zotler.

Doesn't sound like a stalkerish, to be honest. Just overly eager, and clearly doesn't get it. If he is outside your house tomorrow morning, then be worried.

Wouldnt be suprised if my cousin told him the address. Also he's probably round 2 years older than me, so around 19 years old, my sister is 21 almost.

Thats a bit of a genralisation of Italian people.
Other than that Im sure he just fancies her. If your sister hasnt directly told him she doesnt like him, because she seems to always be out when he phones. Then possibly if she tells him straight he will drop it and move on.

Not really. Im an Italian, well Sicilian, and all my guy cousins, all the people i have met in Italy and even my Dad and uncles when they were younger were exactly like this.
Also in Italy, a guy would randomly go up to a girl on the street and say "Do you want to go for a walk and get some ice cream" it is 90% likely the ice cream line would be said for first impressions. Also when a girl they like walks past they "pssst" at them like they are cats, OR if they are driving and the girls are walking they would beep the horn and make some sort of secual action whe driving back, and the girls LOVE IT.

Stalker, yet another word grossly overused today. Real stalkers are ten times scarier than that and can actually end in murder.
Latin guys are horny and very forward. So this is really just him being persistent. Phoning a few times is a nuisance but she just needs to tell him to stop calling the home number. If he carries on then block his calls. Has she actually spoke with him and told him to stop? If not then its way too early to brand him a stalker.

I forgot to add that he was in Tk Maxx watching her work for 50 minutes with his brother last week. Now, my cousin again telling him where she works.
And she has texted him back in Italian to stop calling at around 9pm but since then he phoned up one more time, yet again on the house phone at 10:30pm.

So far he sounds like a nuisance.
Problem is, when you throw words like stalker around it diminishes it's real meaning in serious cases. Like the word rape gets misused. People start taking it less seriously when it can ruin lives. Doesn't seem to be anywhere near that point yet in this case. She needs to be more blunt maybe. Or maybe she secretly likes his persistence? Some girls do but pretend otherwise. I know, Ive got two older sisters.

First of all you can have mild cases of stalker and extreme cases. This is how I define stalker, someone that is following you and keeps calling you.
Its not just when its life theatening, people have different ways of calling stuff... I dont know what else this person can be under. He IS a stalker in my eyes. And no because she's in a relationship, but she is scared to call him up because she cant speak very good Sicilian... she can speak good Italian though, but this bloke wont understand unless he gets a call from my parents.
And next, Rape is completely different. You cant put "rape" in a jokey term at all. People can say "Im being stalked!" in a jokey way as there are mild and extreme cases, but rape is rape, and is serious. Its completely different, no one would say they have been raped unless they have been stripped from their clothes and forced to have sex with someone.
Rape defenition cant be changed.
