View Full Version : GaGa to Cover Depeche Mode?

Lady GaGa has revealed that she plans to cover the 1984 Depeche Mode song 'People Are People'.
The singer told QMS Radio that she is a big fan of the band and feels that her fans would enjoy her interpretation of the popular track.
"I could really give it the melody it never had," she explained.
The 23-year-old was also inspired by fans who have created mash-ups of the two artists' songs.
"I spend literally hours on YouTube each day checking what people post about me, reading the comments and so on. And I was so surprised that many Depeche Mode fans appeared to be Lady GaGa fans. I didn't know the band existed until I saw a mash-up of 'Paparazzi' with 'Just Can't Get Enough'."
She added: "I advise everyone to check out Depeche Mode, they are so underrated."

Although Im not normally to keen on Covers, she did a cover of Viva La Vida and absolutely smashed it, so I hope this one will be as good

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. Big fan my arse, obviously she's picked up on the fact that apparently a few DM fans like her too, and is going to try and appeal to more of them.

But a lot of people HAVE. Depeche Mode aren't some sh!tty underground band that have just gained some recognition and acknowledgement. They've been on the scene for yeeaaaaarrrrrsssssssssss and are a highly successful and influential band.

No but it pretty much cements what will and won't be a chart success. Take a look at last year's song "Shark in the Water" by VV Brown - by some incomprehensible act of God it was not playlisted, and as such only made #39. Now Jords has only just found out about it (I assume because she's trying to break America at the moment).
The irritating thing is then the pop-fans who have the cheek to go around calling REAL artists "flops". EVERYTHING WITH CREDIBILITY 'FLOPS' NOWADAYS BECAUSE THEY DON'T OFFER THEIR VAGINA ON A PLATE LIKE KE$HA OR JLS.

I thought the whole point of doing a cover, is to make it your own, whilst also retaining the original style and sound. She completely slaughtered that song, and it was sh!t in the first place.
