Nope. I don't want it to either. Unless Channel 4 pick it back up in a year or two.

I want to have hope, that Big Brother may be back in a few years, but I don't know.
I would like to see it back when it has had a rest, but there's no saying it will, so I don't want to hype myself up about it and think that it is coming back as it may never ever come back!
But if it does, I would like to see channel 4 have it back and not a channel that may ruin it. But things need to be looked it in the format of the show... but maybe, it will come back after it has had a rest for a couple of years!!

I dont want it on another channel, Id rather Channel 4 fail and relise what a mistake they made by getting rid of it and hopefully bring it back in a few years once everyone who slags it off relises how much they miss it. :)

Of course, the Stanford Experiment will live in some way or other via the media;)

Exactly. It just wouldn't be the same on a different channel.

True the BBC might make it respectable.

Yes, in five/ten years time, it'll be back. The nature of the show allows it to continue. It can be re-invented and changed through generations.
Whether I'd like it to return or not anymore, I really don't know. Because think about it, everything that we know and love about Big Brother today will have changed. The house designs, the iconic eye logo, the presenters, the iconic theme tune, etc etc. That'll all be history, most likely. And you know, I don't know whether I could take that. It wouldn't feel the same, well, it wouldn't be the same. To see it change for new audiences in the future like that to me would just be...strange. I love the show for what it is today, and if that changed, it wouldn't be the same. If it remained the same though (which I seriously, seriously doubt), then I'd be more than happy for it to return after a, well needed, break.
For the time being, as much as I hate to admit it, it's time for it to rest. But come summer 2011, it's going to ****ing strange, let me tell you.

I wonder...
what they will replace Big Brother with in January for 3 weeks and in Summer for 13-14 weeks?
I hope they bring in some brand new shows, not some repeats or pointless shows as I would be a bit disappointed if they don't replace the show with something amazing !!

I think it will go to another channel, in couple of years time, for a year or two, but i truly believe that C4 will have it back at some point.

Hmm I can't see C4 bringing it back after all they are the ones who want to see the back of the programme.. they probably can't afford anymore to stump up the cash for each series and simply want to focus on bringing other programmes through:(.
Right now BB has too much baggage for another broadcaster to consider picking up and rejuvanate too...
However back to the OP I refuse to give up hope:D.

Yup but in a different format as a failed attempt to try to regain the old glory days. It is a great format. Any channel can pick it up if it does not have a patent.

I didn't really want it to go because it's a show that reinvents itself each year with new logo, house design, housemates, twists and tasks etc
I feel it's finally winning back the press and some of the public it lost after CBB5 and is making more of an effort now with the grand house designs and changes to the logo so it could come back successfully in a few years time.
In the meantime, I've got higher hopes for BB11 than I thought I would so am gonna try to enjoy that

I don't know if it will come back even anymore. Its over i think. BB was THIS decade. Its now gone. Its too long and its been going for a decade. Its got no legs anymore. Channel 4 are moving on now with this decade.

I think if they make as much of an effort as they have for CBB7 and this series so far it should come back within the next 5 years but any time after that would be strange. There'd be all many teenagers asking "What's Big Brother?" And any clips of old series would appear pre-historic after a large gap

I don't think a great amount of effort went into CBB7 tbh, it was just it had Vinnie Jones, Baldwin etc. Some fantastic celebs with personalties.

I liked the difference made by the firey eye which has followed on with the floral eye. For a celeb series the house was drastically changed and the reactions to the BB11 house appear good. And the advertising for both has been different e.g. firey water, falling petals, funeral ad
CBB7 was also edited in a different way. Instead of merely showing the tasks like in other series, they were turned into montages. I remember the old folks home task played 'Young at Heart' by the Bluebells to evoke that sort of cheery vibe. It was producer's interfering again but I wouldn't mind that sort of technique with a return of live feed so the hardcore fans can see it unedited
