I'm too much of a film nerd to even begin to answer that! Sure somebody put up a top 20 or so thread and I ended up sending 3 or 4 lists in. Ridiculous really.

:joker:
I don't even think I could name a top 20. It's not that I don't like films, I just find it hard to list them. Top 3 are Pulp Fiction, Monsters Inc and The Hangover.
TV on the other hand, I could write pages and pages about.
I really, really can't narrow it down to just one.
But the films that spring to mind are; Silence of the Lambs, 28 Days Later, Cloverfield, Children of Men, Irreversible, Reign Over Me.

So hard to choose just one. If I had to chose it would be Cloverfield, such a brilliant film.

I first came across the movie on channel 4 about 1991 when things were bad one Saturday AM after a relationship split.........it made me smile again.
Now I have it on DVD for sad times, and have sent it to friends on 4 continents to cheer them up!
Everybody hhere has been changing IDs, so I almost asked Admin to give me 'Elwood P Dowd' cos nobody would understand the reference

Lucky Number Slevin- it has everything, True Romance orrr Edward Scissorhands.
For ages it was the original Get Carter.
Not sure now.
The most magical moment ever in a film for me has to be when the ageing Last Emperor of the film with the same name, opens a box he hid under his throne, containing a live cricket he put there as a boy. Always chokes me up.
Bit of trivia. The eagle-eyed will have noticed one of the old codgers drinking at the bar at the start of Get Carter has 5 fingers, and a thumb.
Best soundtrack too.

Dirty Dancing probably, I've seen it more than any other film. More reasonable choices then would be The Shawshank redemption, Se7en and The Usual Suspects
