I'm scared I have appendecitius!!

For the last 2 hours i have had severe pains just after I have eaten my dinner, its not any particular area, its just such strong pain everywhere on my stomach, the right hand side, the left hand side, the pelvis, the bellybutton area...

I dont feel nausea or anything, its just such bad pain. And then it goes for 5 mins and then comes back for another 10 mins, and then goes and comes.

I have no idea and am getting worried

My sister thought she had food poisoning with pains like this and it turned out to be appendicitis... They actually burst! Not saying yours is appendicitis but if the pain gets severe, I'd phone NHS24

I recall having a similar pain for 3 hours

it turned out to be a 40 foot tapeworm coiled around my lower intestine. I had to take it out the end of my penis over 2 weeks by winding it around a small stick. 2 turns every hour

I can now laugh at the whole experience

It sounds more like indigestion or wind! Appendicitis is generally more in the lower side of the right abdominal area! Check above! If continues - maybe call NHS direct for advice!

i had a really bad pain on the right hand side of my stomach once, went to the doctors but they never found out what it was or anything and it just went away the next day.

My friends brother had this 2 weeks ago. I wouldnt worry about it, but get yourself checked our as soon as possible! My Friends bro had appendicitis and its lucky he checked sooner rather than later as it has burst and the infection had spread.

Be safer and check yourself out.

Appendicitis is mostly in your lower right area by your hip and KILLS when you press it. Plus you'd be vomiting and stuff.

well i wouldn't panic for one, i've had loads of pains and they never turn out to be anything. One of my friends got rushed to hospital for this, got there after 4 hours of waiting at 3am it was wind.

Signs and symptoms

These include localized findings in the right iliac fossa (right Pelvic bone). The abdominal wall becomes very sensitive to gentle pressure (palpation). Also, there is rebound tenderness. In case of a retrocecal appendix, however, even deep pressure in the right lower quadrant may fail to elicit tenderness (silent appendix), the reason being that the cecum, distended with gas, prevents the pressure exerted by the palpating hand from reaching the inflamed appendix. Similarly, if the appendix lies entirely within the pelvis, there is usually complete absence of the abdominal rigidity. In such cases, a digital rectal examination elicits tenderness in the rectovesical pouch. Coughing causes point tenderness in this area (McBurney's point) and this is the least painful way to localize the inflamed appendix. If the abdomen on palpation is also involuntarily guarded (rigid), there should be a strong suspicion of peritonitis requiring urgent surgical intervention.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis is based on patient history (symptoms) and physical examination backed by an elevation of neutrophilic white blood cells. Histories fall into two categories, typical and atypical. Typical appendicitis usually includes abdominal pain beginning in the region of the umbilicus for several hours, associated with anorexia, nausea or vomiting. The pain then "settles" into the right lower quadrant, where tenderness develops. Atypical histories lack this typical progression and may include pain in the right lower quadrant as an initial symptom. Atypical histories often require imaging with ultrasound and/or CT scanning.[19] A pregnancy test is vital in all women of child bearing age, as ectopic pregnancies and appendicitis present with similar symptoms. The consequences of missing an ectopic pregnancy are serious, and potentially life threatening. Furthermore the general principles of approaching abdominal pain in women (in so much that it is different from the approach in men) should be appreciated.

Have you got a reasonably sharp penknife, some thread and a needle? Oh and a stapler, a heavy duty staple is recommended.

if the answer is yes you could try removing your own appendix, I would advise you having some towels or cloths to hand to mop up any of the old red stuff

The incision is made over McBurney's point, one third of the way from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) and the umbilicus; this represents the position of the base of the appendix (the position of the tip is variable).
The various layers of the abdominal wall are then opened.
The effort is always to preserve the integrity of abdominal wall. Therefore, the External Oblique Aponeurosis is slitted along its fiber, and the internal oblique muscle is split along its length, not cut. As the two run at right angles to each other, this prevents later Incisional hernia.
On entering the peritoneum, the appendix is identified, mobilized and then ligated and divided at its base.
Some surgeons choose to bury the stump of the appendix by inverting it so it points into the caecum.
Each layer of the abdominal wall is then closed in turn.
The skin may be closed with staples or stitches.
The wound is dressed.

I remember I had these lumps on the back of my tongue and googled it. every single link had the same thing, cancer and death.
