There will be a change to the nominations procedure for BB11, according to creative director Phil Edgar Jones.

Since Big Brother began ten years ago, the nominations procedure has largely remained the same throughout. Each housemate has had to nominate two people, and the two or more housemates with the most nominations have faced eviction.

However, there will be a change to the format in the upcoming series according to Jones.

Speaking on the Digital Spy forums, he said: “We have some new ideas around noms which we’d like to try out at the start.”

He went on to say that the new procedure “will be fair” and that fans should “wait and see” what the changes are, before making any comments about it.

As with all the series, Jones promised that it will be the viewers who will ultimately decide who leaves the house.

Jones said: “Rest assured you’ll decide who goes.”

What could this change to the nominations format be? One suggestion is that they could adopt the US format where the winner of a task could be immune from eviction.

I'm fed up to **** hearing how you lot think we in the UK are trying to use USA features, BBUK has been far better than BBUSA for years it doesn't need any help from it.

I think they're changing it to make sure the entertaining ones don't go up for eviction. Not sure.

I don't agree here, BBUK has been in the toilet for a while now and I think it needs to try out different things to see what works. You never know the whole task winner immune thing could be a good addition to the series and plus, we don't know for sure whether it is being implemented in BB11. All I'm saying is don't knock it till you've tried it..

I think the changes will be more about failing to nominate and talking about nominations.

Maybe the nomination format is going to change becuase of those housemates last year who refuse to nominate and broke the rules. Maybe producers dont want the same sh*t this year!

Well that would be completely unfair, the very opposite of what PEJ was saying.

Maybe they should just score 2 points for 1st nomination and 1 for 2nd, then have 3 or more up each week.

Well PEJ said on that DS thread that he would have thrown Siavash out.

Evidently he got overruled by the show's producers (Sharon Powers?).

I reckon how we vote should change... We should vote to keep and not vote to boot. The best housemates will then stay and the boring housemates will leave. lol

As long as they are not allowing them to discuss nominations - I will be SO mad if they are!

Immunity from nomination if task is passed would make them work harder at the tasks so that might work. If it's voting to save instead of evict that might work well. Would stop the boring ones slipping under the radar for weeks.

I actually watched the USA version and they allowed them to vote, and it was surprisingly really good.

Ive always saud it should be a vote to save not evict. Dull ones then stand more chance of being kicked out. Although if just two are up it doesnt make much difference.

And no immunity via tasks.
