You're right and at 4/1 it is buying money. None of them will want to nominate him.
The only reason he will lose is if he drops out. He'll be odds on by the end of the week.
Liking Steve based on first impressions, seems a decent guy. Would much rather see him go far being for being a fun HM though rather than get the "sympathy" vote.

I really hope Steve wins. A brave man.
And we need a disabled winner.

I am really happy he made it in because he seems to me anything but a Talent Agency wannabe model and I especially happy he is a little older and a family man. That makes for at least one 'real person' here.
The fact he lost his legs is also going to bring some unique ways of seeing life and something a lot of people watching will be able to relate to (whether as severe or not) and yeah - great.
At least we have one confirmed 'real person' and at least one at age 40.
Good!

Anyone who sacrifices their well being for their country is a legend in my eyes. Seems like a top bloke too, many would just be depressed with the life he has to lead, but he's got over it, and is making the best of a bad situation. He deserves the £100,000.

i will always stand by that you have to entertain to win
as long as he joins in the fun and laughter and is nice then yes
He definitely deserves the £100k, the same goes for all the boys putting their lives on the line for our country.
However this IS Big Brother, if you're not a decent housemate, then you don't deserve to win the show. There's thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people out there that deserve the money, but deserving to win Big Brother is a completely different story.
However, he seems like a very genuinely nice, down to earth guy, I'm just unsure at the moment if he can live up to being a good housemate aswell as the nice guy.

I think it's unfair to say that someone deserves the prize solely because of something they've done in the outside world (especially in an illegal war). When Big Brother pulls stunts like this it frustrates me because there's an inherent unfair advantage. While it's wrong to discriminate based on disability, Steve will obviously not be able to complete or perform certain tasks and will get a sympathy card, in the same way as Pete and Mikey. I'm not a fan of his because I don't see much personality, but it's only Day 2 (can't believe that) so we'll watch the programme progress.

I didn't say he deserved to win, but he definitely deserves the money out of all the people in there. I mean, if if the two were totally unrelated.

agreed, i think its way too early to start predicting winners.. if hes a good guy and entertaining then obv he deserves to win, but i fear far too many people wil give him the sympathy vote which im sure he wouldnt want to win that way!!

I like him. He'll knock the drama queens into shape!
I took a liking to him actually.. seems a nice bloke who has been a lot more unfortunate than a lot of people but deals with it in his own way.. very brave I think.I'm not so sure he'll get the sympathy vote.. after a few weeks, people will forget his disability and he'll either be a good guy or a bad guy depending on his relationships in the house.

I find him a bit unpleasant to look at tbh.....he seems like a nice bloke , but i can't stand farting or loud snoring....also i went out with a one legged guy once, he was lovely and really clean but the stumps do get sweaty and stinky even if they are clean disabled types. two sweaty stumps, farting and snoring....and a few little odd warty things around the damaged eye. I'm fine with the scars though, and he has a nice personality. a little unsavory tho.
