Exactly right. He is nearly what you can call a 'professional reality show contestant/applicant',
and,
when picked and early on he had a clear look of "I am entitled to this, know exactly what I'm doing and I sense most of these people do not."

He analyzed the situation, personalities and what he could and could not get away with and went with a sort of 'Brian Bello' (not exactly) but the clueless rural aussie boy 'who me?' character with major endearing potential and that very often passes by radars as unthreatening or even saved as the 'useful idiot'.
Just as BBLB defined him today.

He is probably the closest thing to a professional BB player and knows exactly what to act like and how and where.

Is he fake?
Depends how you look at it. If you see this as a 'contest' to be won then you can say he is sincerely playing this game and so far very well!
