He seems to be super insecure about how he is perceived by others and being liked, I just hope he has stopped worrying about the likes of Shabby and Rachael liking him. As JJ said, not everybody will like you, and he has friends in there who are much more valuable as friends than Rachael or Shabby.

His new backbone is bitching with JJ;which will just lead to pent-up bitterness and frustration with odd random outbursts which Shabby(don't like her,but she's adept at this)will easily deconstruct and dismiss.
