Love them - got a few myself and am planning my next one already!! all in places that I can choose whether people see them or not.
I have to say I have a couple of big ones BUT my favourite one is the ladybird I have on my foot, it is sooooo cute!!

I had a temporary one done on my lower back of a geko and it was only meant to last 2 years.... that was 5 years ago and its not faded yet!!!
I want one on my lower back, but worried about the pain! I mean it would look a bit daft if I had to ask them to stop halfway through because I couldn't take it anymore.
I think that some tattoos can look really nice.

It depends on the tattoos, and the number of them. A friend of the family has his whole head (including his face) covered in tattoos. My younger sister used to be petrified of him, he does look a bit scary.

I have two medium/small ones on the top of my back, between my shoulder blades. And I have one medium/biggish one at the bottom of my back. The top ones weren't sore, but the one at the base of my spine hurt like a biatch!
I'm gettin another one done soon. At the top of my thigh. I like to be able to hide them when necessary, and I don't go flashing my thigh to just anyone you know.. :spin:

I don't like them at all, and think they're ugly. I agree with what Tanser_Man said earlier.

A lot of folk feel like that. I guess there is no middle-ground with them. I always liked them, and always wanted one, but I'm glad I waited til I was 27 before I got my first one. When I think back to some of the chit I came up with in my teens, I dread to think what abominations I would have burned into my flesh had I done it earlier! :puzzled:

It's not so much the idea of expressing yourself I don't like, it's the permanent aspect of it. I'd love to have a henna tattoo perhaps, and I've liked the idea ever since I saw Madonna's Frozen video. But seriously, can you imagine a 70-year-old woman with a dolphin on her ankle?

lol... there are going to be many 70 year old women with dolphins! For some bizarre reason, a lot of people pick them as their tats.
I won't have a dolphin. I will have something equally ludicrous! :spin:

I stupidly had my first tattoo done when I was 15 - what a horror that one was, I had to pay a lot of money to have a cover up done with something I think is much better.
I agree there isnt much middle ground on tattoos, you either love em or hate em! I have a fab one down the middle of my back at the top and it says "only god can judge me " in japanese, it be very pretty and my 18 year old daughter has the same one ( tragic I know )
