They have always been paid around that as far as I know, and it's a pittance considering how much money Endemol make from it.

If you can last for 90 days, then you get £2,700, not bad for three months of faking.

You can earn more on a minimum wage. £30 is crap, franky! No wonder normal people don't want to leave their decent paying jobs to go on BB.

Its not crap when you think that people would be in there for nothing!

but they dont spend any money on food, bills (other than rent and basic bills at home which will need to be paid) but they wont use things like gas and leccy.
its not bad for doing nowt but its not good either.

Still crap in the long term.
Some people quit their jobs, go on BB, and find it hard to get another job due to their poor reputation. For any normal bloke who has a normal job, it's not worth going into BB for IMO!

Yeah okay they get free food, free drinks etc. But loads of ex housemates have said they couldn't find a job in ages because they were in BB. It's ruined people's lives.

When I was going to apply last year for BB, my manager found out and he said to me that I would need to leave my job before hand because of where I work and it cant be seen that the government is employing nutters who go on BB. Thats why I didnt do it incase I couldnt get my job back when I came back out.

They are basically opening their lives up to the press and up for ridicule even on other Big Brother programs, and Endemol make millions out of it.
How will JJ get round this then? He will be on a Visitor Visa and not allowed to work???

30 quid is nothing. many of these people still have rent and bills to pay back home. Or ppl like Dave who have a family to support. 210 quid a week is a joke. its not even minimum wage.

He may be on a visa that allows work to support their visit, even Aussies can get them, that is if he really is an Aussie, and doesnt hold a British Passport.

Agreed Equity rates, for UK reality TV shows. They are technically entertainers.

everybody gets paid not just celebrity's they also continue to get the £30 per day for a week after they leave and are required by a contract that they sign to be available for presscalls arranged by bb and appearences on bblb and bbbm after a week is up then they get paid.
if they walk out of the house, get thrown out or refuse to take part in any big brother related shows they are asked to do while they are still in contract then they can be deemed in breach of contract and not receive a penny for the whole thing.
it is a pittance they get paid but once they are out of the house you would have to be pretty stupid to not be able to make a few £k's from at least doing a few interviews etc.

its hardly sitting on your arse all day trust me they are all under severe mental pressure in that house.
im not spending time rooting round the net to prove something everybody knows is correct but here is proof that they were paid from the very start. (faq 7 while they were looking for bb3 contestants) http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/B/bigbrother/faq.html
proof it was £30 per day for bb4 which was 7 years ago so it could well be more now http://www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties/read_this/big_brother/big_brother_2003/facts.shtml
the bbusa is a bit better paid http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_do_you_get_paid_for_being_on_big_brother

Ey true but they will ALL make money once leaving the house.. ALL at least make a few grand out of magazine interviews and shizz. Anyways its tough. If you think you are not getting paid enough by big brother to support bills and sh!t at home then DON'T go on BB.

Oh boo hoo.. they should have thought about that before going on BB. The delluded fools who only go on BB for fame.. to have money given to them on a plate when they leave the house. For most the work just dries up for them.. my advice.. go get a normal job if media work shrivells up!!
