just think all that horrific stuff he's been through  tonight him talking about it in detail made you think he's incredible and he just carries on but what else can he do and if he wins then it should also be about his personality cause i dont want people saying ooooo sympathy and that cause it shouldnt be about that and whats good is the hm's see him as an equal the only thing that makes him stand out is his snoring :joker:

The only problem is...IF he did win, for who he is rather than smypathy...people would still say it was the sympathy vote.
Look what happened to pete? He was a great housemate, and would likely have won anyway, yet still, years later 'he only won because he had tourettes'. it will always happen.

I don't think Pete won coz of tourettes. He was a cheeky, fun, easy going guy surrounded by crazies. His disability is a very mild one anyways and you forgot about it mostly.
Steve Im not sure about still. His disabilities are more obvious and I just think other Hms may tiptoe around him a bit too much. I like him so far but can't say he's hugely entertaining besides his interesting accounts of his injuries.

Not yet, he has done nothing of major interest, might come out of his shell a little and surprise us...maybe not. But one thing is for sure...if he DOES open up a bit, and gains a lot of fans, and ends up winning...fans of the other housemates will always say that he won because of his disabilities. It happens...

Did you happen to not like him by any chance? See how I see it is, people who liked him reckon he won for who he is, floaters usually think he won for who he is, and people who disliked him thought he won because of his tourettes.

Theres my floater theory out of the window then
And yeah, I kinda remember. After this BB Im re-watching bb7 again anyway. I dont understand how glyn was so popular really, he did nothing at all. The only thing I remember about him was his egg song...and thats only because i downloaded the rave version of it :p :D

Steve still needs to find his feet in the house (pardon the pun) but once he does, he will soon come out of his shell and be the entertaining HM everyone is hoping for.

Yes, I thought the same.
He's a very interesting character in the house.

Give him time. Remember, he is quite different to everyone in the house. He is much older, has different life experiences (much tougher than most people will experience). I completely agree that he isn't entertaining at the moment but as his confidence grows, he will find his level.

So what. Most of the peoples would have voted him. Only few Shabby/John lunatic fans would be jealous.

He seems an ok person (from what you can tell by looking at someone in the unusual circumstances of a reality show) but not that interesting a HM.

Pete didnt win because of tourettes he won because he was nuts and he entertained every single night.

Pete wasn't that entertaining, the fact that he was different certainly helped him alot. Steve however is older and would not be considered as good looking by the audience either.

i agree people get it in their heads that it was because of his tourette's plus Ash and nikki fans down his time in the house. he had far more great moments then ash but they wouldn't have you believe it

That really says more about ignorant people who find it inconceivable that anyone with a disability can be more of a normal, fully functioning human being than most so called "able bodied" people. Steve lost his legs, not his mind or personality - I don't feel sympathy for him, I feel admiration. Same with Pete, he had tourettes which did not impede his mental faculties or ability to participate in tasks etc. Treating disabled people differently is an invidious form of discrimination usually evidenced by the patronising attitudes towards them of the supposedly "normal" people.
Some of the comments on this forum about disability are quite frankly disgraceful, as are the comments about homosexuality, lesbianism etc - as an older forum member I am surprised at the lack of tolerance from the mostly younger forum members. After all this is the 21st century, yet the comments on here seem to demonstrate that prejudice and bigotry are alive and well in the younger generation.
