According to Brian, Narinder and Jatinder have had a baby boy.
Born last Monday the 24th October they have named him Jeevan, and he weighed 6lb 2oz. Both mother and baby are well.

Brian was at home in Ireland at the time of the birth with flu so was therefore unable to be her birthing partner.

She's a big mother

She might have been on Big Brother, but Geordie reality TV star Narinder Kaur now has a very little mouth to feed.

The Killingworth lass has just given birth to her first baby, a boy called Jeevan, and is finding it tough getting to grips with motherhood and coping with the sleepless nights.

But that's nothing compared to the dramatic labour she suffered for an incredible two days.

"It just went on and on and on," says Narinder, speaking exclusively to Angel Eyes.

"My waters broke a little on the Friday and they took me into hospital to be induced. The contractions started on the Saturday but Jeevan wasn't born until Monday afternoon by which time I was so tired I was falling asleep between contractions.

"When Jeevan finally came out I was so tired I didn't even think to ask if it was a boy or a girl. It was only after five minutes that my husband Jatinder remembered to look."

Weighing 6lb 3oz, baby Jeevan was born two weeks early on October 24. But for Narinder, he couldn't arrive quickly enough.

"I didn't really enjoy being pregnant," she admits. "I felt frumpy all the time and couldn't wait to get the baby out and my body back. All the way through I just wanted it to be early."

Being a new mum has been like a baptism of fire for Narinder, who admits she has struggled to come to terms with the overwhelming responsibility of looking after her little one.

"I knew it was going to be hard but I wish I'd had a newborn to look after for a few months before I gave birth so I could see what it would really be like," she smiles. "I'm so tired, and the first month was hell. Everyone says it's going to be hard but you still underestimate how difficult it is. My husband and I didn't have a clue even after all the ante-natal classes. Even knowing how and when to feed him was hard."

Thankfully Narinder, 33, is feeling a lot better now that Jeevan is six weeks old, and she has even managed to shed enough pounds to squeeze back into her old jeans. "At first all I could think of was the overwhelming responsibility of bringing up a child.

"I do still have my teary moments but things are a lot easier now."

Jeevan is sure to be spoiled rotten with Narinder's fellow Big Brother contestant Brian Dowling as the doting godfather. Brian was designated birthing partner and has been a huge support for Narinder.

"Brian was especially good at doing all the flouncy stuff," she says. "He brought me in a goodie bag of treats and a tape with all my favourite music on. He's been fantastic. He comes round and lets me have a couple of hours' sleep. He organised the baby shower and he's bought us so many presents."

Narinder is currently planning Jeevan's first Christmas, which they'll be spending with her family in West Moor.

"Jeevan's loving it more here than in London," she says. "He's much more settled. I think it's because there are more people around here whereas in London it was just me and Jeevan at home."

Or maybe the cheeky chappie is just enjoying all the extra cuddles...
