View Full Version : Can anyone explain this, medical school and Sunshine, not true?

How is it that Sunshine has said she is at medical school but that her GCSE grades were QUOTE - "rubbish", when she was talking to Govan. She also said that her Mum died when she was 17 and telephoned med school to get her, which means Sunshine is saying she went into med school no later than 18 - BUT, how is she then saying at 24 she hasn't done her final year (as she is currently taking a year out, and doing her final year in 2011) Med school doesn't last that long, even with a year out!

I have two friends who got into med school, it is the most competitive place there is, you DON'T GET IN WITH RUBBISH GRADES AND A PHONE CALL FROM YOUR MUM - even if she is dying. And anyway, with 'rubbish' grades Sunshine just wouldn't hack it at Med school, what were her A levels like then??? If she can't do GCSEs well!!!!!

Another thing, no serious med student takes a year out from med school - it just doesn't happen!!!! (Cue all the Sunshine fans swearing they know loads of people who have -blah blah)

And Sunshine also says that her Mum dying inspired her to go to med school, why? Doctors don't cure cancer. Why not be a research scientist if that is way she felt? Being a doctor won't do any good in that department. And how come her mother's death inspired her to become a doctor but it was her mother's phone call (or cash donation?) that got her into med school.

None of what Sunshine says about med school makes sense, and it was pretty nasty of her to screw over her dad for a car (lying about her car to get a new one for Uni) while he was suffering the grief of losing his wife to cancer.

Which med school is she at anyway?

Really isn't it? WOW thanks for that info smartypants. LOL.

Look, Sunshine played the deceased mother card so anyone can comment on it. One of them was going to play the "my mother...blah blah" card, and she had to up on last years 'mum in coma' card.

Med school does not take 7-8 years! Sunshine is full of it.

It's low that she played it. Everybody who watches BB knows that kind of thing stinks with viewers.

Sunshine never misses an opportunity to remind everyone of her mother dying. Btw, it is SEVEN YEARS since her mother died. People lose people they love, using to get sympathy on TV is low.

Also, how is Sunshine so keen on medicine BUT she wants to go into politics? That She wants to be a Tory Prime minister one day!!!!

How will politics help her mother who died? Or does a 'medical degree' story just fit into her lies for sympathy at the moment.

She was asked about her jewellery and told the meaning behind them, quite nice that they mean something to her rather than just look good. And Govan said she might be portrayed as a victim and she replied that she never wants to be a victim, not even after all the bad times shes had.

Will have to see if she brings it up all the time if she stays, if so. :nono: But I do believe she wasnt trying to play some 'card' and was just explaining those situations.

She IS A LIAR. Med courses do not take 7-8 years like Sunshine is saying. The standard is four years. Some Universities will allow five years max - but only because of certain conditions (often mature students who already work in hospitals etc.) NO ONE does seven years at med school full time like Sunshine says she is doing. Either you have made that up about your sister or you just don't know what you are talking about. What Uni/med school is your sister at?

And I notice in your defence of Sunshine you have failed to answer about the rubbish exam grades Sunshine admits she got. NO ONE gets into med school with rubbish grades. Not even your supposed sister. LOL.

Just looked on her bb profile ,Jesus wept ,sympathy chaser or what??? and bullsh1t merchant as well"BEAUTY AND BRAINS DO MIX????????" does she have a mirror?Im sorry I do not now believe one word she says ...

Beauty and brains collide in medical student Sunshine. With only one year left of her medical degree she has taken a year out to study medical journalism in London.

Sunshine describes herself as 'beautiful and intelligent' giving herself 9 out of 10 on both counts. People often judge her and think she's a bit of a Barbie doll, but Sunshine is relentlessly positive. She wants to be on Big Brother to show the nation that brains and beauty do mix.

Being a Tory through and through, Sunshine has set her sites on becoming Prime Minister one day despite admitting she knows little about politics.

This well travelled girl also claims to have had three near death experiences around the world; she was mugged at knife point in Tunisia, she accidentally overdosed on anti-malarial drugs in India and was bitten by a poisonous spider in Australia. She now lives with her pet Chihuahua Tinkerbell.

Currently single, she loves men with big strong arms and a brain to match her own. She prefers to live with guys saying 'they're easier to live with than girls and even if they are messy you never really argue with them'. She thinks footballer Ronaldo is quite attractive 'but I would not make a good footballer's wife'.

Maybe she doesnt mean 7 years at med school maybe she means she is doing a degree course, then entering as a graduate for Med School, or because of lack of Educational Qualifications doing an Access course at a tech college then entering med school for a 5 year course with a one year foundation/premed course.

Sunshine said Medical school, not another degree - and it's on her profile - duh. You only enter med school as a Graduate student as a mature student who has worked as a health worker etc. It is NOT THE PATH FOR 17 YEAR OLDS! And anyway, you obviously weren't listening to what she said (or reading what was written in this thread by several people!) because Sunshine SAID she went into MEDICAL school at 18 years old because her dying mum telephoned the med school to get her in on sympathy, despite her rubbish grades.

And the foundation courses count within the 5 years (4 year standard). Sunshine claims she is doing 8 years at med school. LOL. She is full of it.

Dont quote me 100% on this as i am not completly sure (bearing in mind I would have been about 12). She did totally cock up her GCSE's whilst she was at Prince William school in Oundle. She managed to get a scholarship at a school in Peterborough (Kings School) which allows higher achieving students but also some are enrolled due to church, and scolarships are avaliabe. She managed to get a scholarship thanks to her mum (I think it was for playing a musical instument at a high level) and got 13 GCSEs graded A* and 1 GCSE at Grade A alongside taking A-Levels at the same time, in which she got 5 grade A's. She then went on to study medicine at Demontford(sp?) Uni (DMU) in Leicester where she has done 5 out of 6 years. At the end of last year she took a year out to take a booster degree lasting one year in medical journalism. She will be returning to DMU in september time to finish the final year of her medical degree.

Your post is full of holes. Of course, you've added a lot of irrelevant details (some of which has bits of seemingly connected *facts* and so called *genuine* 'guesses') and some people start to believe it.

However, there are some facts that mean your speculation is wrong.

The University you refer to is De Monfort University in Leicester and they DON'T TEACH MEDICINE. Sunshine said she is studying to BE A DOCTOR, you can't be a qualified doctor with a 'medical science' degree. The 'medical science' degree that De Montford offer is only for health professions who want to know more about medical related biology etc. it is NOT A QUALIFICATION IN MEDICINE TO BE A DOCTOR.

And that Medical 'science' degree that De Monfort offer is THREE YEARS, OR MAX FOUR YEARS AS A SANDWICH DEGREE.

Sunshine's story just falls apart the more you look at it.

Concentrate on what happens in the program than letting your inventive imagination roam over people's real life affairs that you have zero knowledge about anyway. Its not speculation, she is my cousin

Like I said, dont quote me 100%. Its definately a lecester uni, there are two there, I assumed it was demontford. I dont really speak to her much about stuff like that, its just stuff that I've heard my mum talking about.

Maybe its better if I post the stuff i know for sure, rather than try and fill in the gaps:

She definately fuked her GCSES
She definately re-sat them and got over 10 A*s
She definately has 5 A-Levels at grade A
She is definately studying a 6 year degree in medicine (not medical science or any other variation) at Leicester - To work out which one, it is the higher ranking Leicester Uni.
She definately took a year out to study medical journalism in a London uni.

How is it that Sunshine has said she is at medical school but that her GCSE grades were QUOTE - "rubbish", when she was talking to Govan.

Different medical schools place different weightings on A levels/Highers, the personal statement, UKCAT score, BMAT score [where used] and interview. Some schools take GCSE results into account others don't look at them. I'm not sure about Leicester.

It doesn't necessarily follow that Yvette went to Medical school almost straight after any alleged telephone call. There would have been UKCAT and/or BMAT exams to organise and take first, if she hadn't taken them or scored suffficiently on them already. Your logic does not follow here.

There are many reasons why students might not do so well at GCSEs as they do in A levels/highers, for example teaching quality, having developed a more mature outlook at the A levels, concentration on less subjects. GCSE results aren't always a predictor of A level results.

Another thing, no serious med student takes a year out from med school - it just doesn't happen!!!!

It's not common but medical students can take a year out with good reason. The student would discuss this with their tutor or regent.

What an ignorant comment.
Many are inspired to study and practice medicine after their own or family member's experience of receiving healthcare.

None of what Sunshine says about med school makes sense, and it was pretty nasty of her to screw over her dad for a car (lying about her car to get a new one for Uni) while he was suffering the grief of losing his wife to cancer.

You'll never make sense from your acquired knowledge from a sample size of n=2.

Which med school is she at anyway?

Leicester.
Yvette is a fairly prolific medical writer and blogger, but don't let facts get in the way of your conspiracy theory.

Haha! I'm a University lecturer and I was going to post something along the lines of what Frank E has above, but I see there's no need! Sorry Abhorsen, but your conspiracy theory is a lot of claptrap. Resitting GCSE's is common place by submitting mitigation as a result of the death of a close relative, it would have been very very easy for her to get an opportunity to take them all again, and equally it is completely understandable why she did so badly in the first place.

I don't personally like Sunshine from what I've seen on the show so far, but the lengths you've gone to in this thread to discredit what she has actually genuinely achieved so far are quite frankly, breathtakingly ignorant.

Oh, and one more thing, I have 14 cousins spread out over Scotland, England and abroad. All of them could tell you that I'm a lecturer, but I doubt in all honesty if more than about 4 of them would be able to instantly recall what university I work at, or indeed what school I went to etc.

What? RLMAO.

Anyway, it's pretty easy to 'diagnose' death, the lack of breathing is a real trouble sign.

Its not quite as simple as that, people can last a good while with very slow shallow breathing and a very slow heartbeat, simialr to the bodies mammallian diving reflex.

Confirmation of death by a doctor has a set series of checks they must do, including but not limited to breathing, pulse, reaction to light on the pupil, lividity, rigor mortis, bodily corruption (as in decomposition).

But rarely does a teenager who loses their parent get over it in seven years. It is the single most important thing that has shaped her life and who she is, and for you to say she is playing some type of "card" simply for her benefit is cruel. My cousin lost her mom at that age, to cancer, and its an ongoing battle for her to deal with it still to this day, years after the fact, and I can't imagine Sunshine would be much different.

The thing that made me question her was that no credible doctor or potential doctor would call themselves sunshine... or go on BB

I said she was a Sociopath the first night. Infact I made numerous drunken threads on it lol

what a happy coincidence when our drunken rants turn out to be right lol
