yeah it's so annoying if you just want to look quickly at a poll or something.

Without any limit, there'd be a LOT of pressure put on the server, 15 seconds is actually very generous.

or those who use the "New Posts" feature to save time [Read: People who dont want to spend time trawling through various forums to find new posts]

Put your handbag away, it doesn't apply to everyone obviously. I wouldn't know how that new posts thing works because the vertical bar on the homepage always does me fine.
