The winner of the new season of Britain's Next Top Model will be chosen by the public during a live finale episode.

It will mark the first time that a live instalment of the Living show has been broadcast, and the first time in its history that viewers have been able to select their winner.

The audience will be able to cast their votes via telephone during the special 90-minute episode which is scheduled to air in October. Virgin Media Television's head of commissioning Mark Sammon described it as "the best twist yet".

The sixth season of the competition - which kicks off next month - will see new host Elle Macpherson joined on the judging panel by designer Julien Macdonald, stylist Grace Woodward and model Charley Speed as they attempt to find the country's next top model.

"This season has already rocketed to a completely different level, thanks to Elle and her stunning new panel. And now a live final? It's the best twist yet," said Sammon. "Living's audience never shies from telling us what they think, so I can’t think of a more discerning panel of judges to finally decide who truly deserves to be Britain’s Next Top Model."

The winner will receive representation from Models 1, a contract with Revlon and a cover spread in Company magazine.

Britain's Next Top Model returns July 5 at 9pm on Living, with the 90-minute finale episode scheduled to air in October.

Elle fits so much well considering she was a one point a Top Model, Lisa never reached the heights of the other country's hosts like Tyra or Heidi or Elle.

I'm glad we have elle now, I never liked Lisa and I think Elle has more class. I didn't think much of the first photoshoot they had to do in underwear. I do think the shoot came off as being seedy and verging on glamour modeling rather than fashion.
