The Daily Star reports today that The Bill actor Daniel McPherson is in talks about joining Celebrity Big Brother.

Former That's Life host Esther Rantzen is being lined also, according to the newspaper.

A 'source' is quoted: 'Esther is a tough cookie who won't suffer fools gladly'. 'She is hugely popular with the public and will certainly attract viewers'.

The Daily Star also says that Davina McCall is rumoured to be hoping to step inside the house - this time as a contestant.

Anna Nicole Smith has already been signed up, it says.

The new series starts on Channel 4 on January 5 and lasts 16 days.

I'd like to see Davina go into the house as a housemate, but can't see it happening.

16 days is too short for a Big Brother series though - that's one of the reasons the Celeb version isn't as good. I'd make it a month.

i was hopeing it would last a month this series!

Still - it should be good tho!

I can see Davina going in the house!

My friend told me that Celeb BB4 will be Davina's last - but i dunno how true that is.

I cant wait till it starts!

yedah he played some1 in the Bill Ruth. Regarding Davina it would be good but cant see it happening

It should be at least a month, to let the characters develop.

Thats why Im a Celeb..... doesent match BB.

Daniel MacPherson is one of the presenters of the Australian version of The X Factor, apparently. As well as an actor.

CBB needs to last longer than 16 days, a month would have been much better.

thanks for that James. Yeah it needs to run for a month, im a celeb works better because you have the trials in the first week then you kick one out every day the week after
