The amazing speech Martin Luther King Jnr made the night before he was assassinated on April 3rd 1968, and I was just thinking that if there is anyone on here who hasn't heard it, they might like to.
I remember the day well. It came in a very turbulent decade when the US Civil Rights movement was moving mountains, but very slowly.
JFK was killed in November 1963, Malcolm X in 1965, and shortly after Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy was killed as well.
I was in my teens and so saddened by it all, especially at a time when Peace and Love was supposed to be all around us.
Anyway, enough of my waffling.
If you would like to hear his speech I have seen the promised land CLICK HERE (http://www.drmartinlutherkingjr.com/mountaintop.ra)
I'm sure he knew he was about to die.
If you'd like to hear his Ihave a dream speech from 1963 CLICK HERE (http://www.drmartinlutherkingjr.com/ihaveadream.htm)
Sadly, we still have a way to go to wipe out discrimination, cruelty and inequality in this world, but these remind me that we should all keep trying.
