View Full Version : Do we need 3D?

There're TVs with it now, computer games, movies have been investing in it and setting sales records with the technology - but why?
Am I the only one that doesn't give a toss if something comes out at me on screen? I can't see it being any enhancing of the important aspects of movie/tv - the sentiment and art of it - it just seems to be a cheap gimmick.
Leave 2D alone :(
I hate the prospect of having to change to something I don't even like just to keep up in a few years. It feels like HD has just arrived and now we have this. It's far too gimmicky for my liking. I don't want to put on a pair of glasses to watch the ****ing news. If it doesn't make a difference to the actual picture quality then like you said, I really don't care.

I can't stand 3D cos it involves 3D glasses and it's a bit difficult wearing 3D glasses over normal glasses,so I just don't go to see 3D movies, which is annoying if I want to see the movie.

No, another stupid gimmick to get people to spend money just to feel up with the Joneses. It looks crap anyway.

Reminds me, whats that huge 3D thing called at Alton Towers (if it's still there?). You have to sit in this huge dome with the glasses on and watch clips and stuff (apparently) making you feel as if you're there. All it did to me was make me feel sick.

Yeah not a big fan of 3D really. I just saw it as a way of trying to get people back into the cinemas.

3D can be spectacular when done right (IE Avatar) but what's annoys me is when they do a crappy rush job to convert 2D films to 3D just to get a few more quid out of the ticket sales (IE Clash of the Titans).

HD will do me just fine tyvm. I don't want to sit there like a twat wearing 3D glasses all the time, save it for special films at the cinema, they're just overdoing everything now.

We don't need them but the studios do, what with the ever increasing internet piracy.
