View Full Version : Be careful with Winks on MSN -

Someone, who will remain nameless suggested I get some free "winks" for MSN instant messenger from a certain website

Without thinking properly, I downloaded one, installed it and now my PC is suffering some kind of attack

More details of the saga here (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?t=34600)

I am now looking at trying to raise the money to pay a professional to see if he can fix it.

I have a lot of important stuff on my PC and with one of my software tools the installation discs disappeared during a redecoration of my flat last year. So I need to get a fix without the "nuke" option of reformatting and rebuilding from scratch.

I have already spent $42.94 (Canadian Dollars) to register software which promised a fix and did not solve my problem.
:bawling:

So STAY AWAY FROM MSN WINKS!!!!!!!

Especially when talking to me on MSN at the moment. :nono:

I got the conversion from US (Not Canadian Dollars) the XoftSpy registration stung me for £27.70 :bawling::mad:

The fee from the Engineer was £45.00 for 1 1/2 hours work

An account of what was done and shortly after (http://www.bautforum.com/showpost.php?p=598131&postcount=42)

One question I had on there has been answered, with ZoneAlarm I do not us the XP firewall

So far no need for the Nuke option yet- but the night is still young :bored:
