What do y'all think of Maria?

I think she's great and could bring a breath of fresh air to the British music industry. She has real talent...and the whole package. She sings, she writes, sheperforms consistently well.. she has The X Factor.

Maria all the way.

Yep, she's great. Great voice, looks fab, and seems such a lovely person too. I think she will get a recording contract whether or not she wins the show.

I like your style, Mike & Ruth!

I reckon she will get a contract no matter what although I do frown upon that quite a bit. I reckon if you don't win these shows that you shouldn't get a deal. But, then again, we can't let talent fall by the wayside either.

I like her, and think that she's by far the best act this year. She clearly needs strong management though, as we saw on Wednesday night - she seems a little clueless as to what best suits her voice or is likely to be well received.

It wouldn't be the first time that far and away the best act has been long gone before the final, either. It happened with Roxanne Cooper on Pop Idol II.

im worried about her song choice this week though - Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones, she said she knew Satisfaction better, she usually manages to pull it off though :spin2:

This makes the programme a joke I'm afraid.

A very BAD joke.

I agree 100%. My daughter and I don't really want to watch it next week. She is only 8 and she was spitting the dummy when Louis picked the Conways! Even at her age, she can see how ridiculous it is!

Tonight shows why these reality music shows will never be taken seriously, and probably don't deserve to be.

It's never been about the music, and who has performed best.

The Conways were right ropey with their performance tonight. We could hear the whole audience were disgusted with the result. I hope that helped Maria get over the terrible shock tonight. I think we were all too complacent - as someone said about Maria before, we just assumed she'd get through - I didn't vote - so hands up I'm guilty. The result sucks. Louis sucks!

It was me who said it, and I hold my hand up too. I was too lazy to go and get my phone because it was on the charger, and I was lounging on the couch. I have voted for her every week, but figured I didn't need to and didn't bother! Now, I'm sorry!

That's an extremely valid point, James. Louis Walsh has dragged TXF through the dump and back..and that's just tonight.

I've been saying all along that I REFUSE to take the X Factor seriously until Chenai, Chico and the Conways were gone. So when two of those three are still here in the final 7 and one of the most talented acts is out, I can't really see myself ever taking it seriously. Louis Walsh is a stubborn idiot.

I can't say I took to her originally, but as the weeks went by I began to like her. It's no great loss IMO as I didn't particularly like her, but she's far better than at least 3/4 of the acts in there now.

Agree with you Ziola - I'd say Chico and Nicholas.

I don't particularly rank the Conways as the absolute worst, but they don't spark much interest either.

I think if Louis or EVEN Simon wanted to be kind to the Conways, they would have let them go, as they're only going to be remembered now as "the act that didn't deserve to stay".

Plus, lets face it, it wasn't their own fault that they were saved, yet they're going to be feeling absolutely awful, as everyone made it blatantly obvious that they thought it was the wrong decision!

I personally hope that they can regain their composure and continue in the competition for as long as they can. You could say, they certainly have the luck of the Irish!! :joker:

Poor Maria
