Hi guys, im not sure if sum of you have clocked on that all the BB contesants knew they was going to be nominated to contend in the BB house exept the mole. A few nights ago i was listening to a conversation between two house mates and they knew they was going to nominated for BB11 the night before the show started BB imediatly cut the voice off the conversation that made it more obviouse that they knew they was 100% going to be contestants.
Does anybody else think that BB11 has been fixed to a certain extent?

Yeah your right about Super Mario and the tombola and as far as we know Mario's name could of been the only name in the tombola and its not as if its the national lottery. BB11 promised that they are going to go out with a bang and i believe they made sure they chose who goes in, the people they chose knew they was going in also. Its all a set up for entertainment for us watchers simple as.

So why not just accept it as such?
I don't honestly care how people were selected as long as it's a good house, and on the whole it is.
The only fixing I care about is any that happens once they are inside.

At least with live feed you can potentially see a bit more of people. But most viewers of course do not look at the live feed.

It wasn't fixed. If they really wanted Mario in they would have just put him in. Duh.
They genuinely wanted one random HM from the larger group. Its not like they didn't select the 80 potentials themselves so they weren't getting a complete randomer.
And TV companies are paranoid about fixing things these days so I doubt they'd risk it for no great benefit. Just no need.

I really believe that this year, as the final year, Big Brother could have been set up. I think that the housemates, to some extent, have been told how to act, and what stories are going to be played out between housemates inside. Watching Big Brother, it just seems too interesting. Housemates seem to be played up to the cameras a lot, and are not scared of being rude or openly flirting with someone. A girl like Rachel would not admit she like someone like JJ who apparantly 'hates her'. And Ben wouldn't flirt with Mario when he knows that he fancies him....
It just seems too dramatic.
Watch it tonight with that thought in your head and see what you think of it.

The show has been going for 10 years. The HMs know what viewers want to see. So to some extent they play out their own dramas. And, of course, the producers have their ways of manipulating events.
But its not set up in the sense that they are told what to do or anything. People are dramatic and create their own friction. Especially when selected for a reality show. Theyre not gonna choose a bunch of placid nuns are they?

It's not set up for christ sake. There is no hard evidence save for boring fan forum paranoia that it is set up. There have also been countless convorsations since launch that would point to the fact that it is NOT set up, like Ife recognizing Steve and saying to him 'the secret worked!'.

Erm, you made a thread, expect replies that disagree with you.
With that attitude, I doubt anybody cares what you think ... well, that mixed with the fact that you're a lonely old bigot, who thinks that homosexuals should "hyde in the closet" :)

Lol ruddy youth of today and all that codswallop.
For some reason I just don't believe they knew for sure they were going in, however, I think certain things have been fixed in the past such as Latoya Jackson's private bedroom in CBB6. Never has BB carelessly left the bedroom unlocked on launch night yet she walks straight through it, opens another unlocked door, and there's her bed! Cheeky mare

All the usual suspects rushed to BBs defence then, as well, "it wasn't fixed, anyone could have had the private bedroom" Yeah right, anyone could have been first in and gone straight to the table where the note about the beds was and just walked straight to the Private Bedroom (although in theory she had NEVER been in the house before!!
As I said, Yeah, right!

Quite simply BB always unlocks the bedroom once every HM is in and Latoya was first in.
I think the Golden HM in BB7 wasn't a fix but thought it strangely odd Susie was a stand-in HM for BB5, I can see where the conspiracy theories could arise from.
But Mario being an actor just because he's the only gay sounds a bit desperate. BB1 had no gay male HMs, BB3 and BB4 didn't have any gay HMs at all

It doesnt matter if it was fixed as this was not something that the public got to vote on and so no monies crossed hands. The ombudsman would only be interested if the public were part of fraudulent behaviour..this clearly isnt as BB production can choose just about whoever it likes in whatever way it likes, as long as they dont involve the public in deceit.
What surprises me is that some on here actually believe that it wasnt all just a typical BB staged theatrical hogwash. Duh.

they should just pick 14 random people from the street...
'you want to go on big brother??'

why do they choose who goes in? i don't like that at all.

In BB1 it was pretty much like that, but they just wanted normal people that could be interestign and entertaining for 9 weeks
BB2-3 were deliberately picked to 'up the ante' after the Nasty Nick drama so BB could be more like a soap opera
BB4 was 'back to basics'
BB5 was like a soap opera on crack
But BB6-10 were blatant attention seekers, fame hungry wannabes etc
I think BB11 is msot like BB5. The HMs are still abstract and picked to be entertaining but nowhere near as loud as the BB6-10 lot

You cant just "stick 'em in the house"
Number 1 they need to see howthey react with other people and get to know them as characters to see if they would be good tv
And number 2 they could be rapists or murderer
So your idea fails
daniel-lewis-1985
18-06-2010, 02:27 PM
And BB1 wasnt like that either. They advertised in newspapers and online and auditioned thousands of people before eventually picking the final 10

Obviously it was a social experiment so the producers had to consider who to stick in the house based on how HMs would interact (and that's why Ruth Wrigley deliberately didn't want to put black people and Nazis in the same house) but generally speaking, it was early days and so I think the BB1 HMs were average people you could expect to see on the streets.
And although there were audition processes, again, it was early days, no one knew what to expect from the show so it was pretty much trying to whittle down willing participants who seemed naturally entertaining

The housemates are hand picked by BB in order to have some conflict in the house. The only thing I didn't understand is why they dragged 80 people down to the show when they knew exactly who was going in. Seems a tad unfair unless they were all in on it - that seems logical. Mario's entrance would have been more credible if the tombola box was see through and they proved that there were other names in there. Somehow, I think Mario was meant to go in. He didn't struggle with any of those tasks as the 'Mole'. Still great fun to watch.

He means actually pick people off the streets not have average people from the streets theres a difference.
And fruit cake they go through a rigorous audition process an have loads of physycological tests before they make it in the house in order for the producers to get rid of anyone unstable or phsyco so no its not the same as getting randomers off the streets

I guess we're supposed to assume the first 13 were already picked and 14th genuinely could have been any of the other 86. Maybe Mario was just genuinely godo at his task, and picked at random, and that woman standing behind the tombola on launch night really did ensure there was no fix. However, my only concern with if Mario had been evicted is, why wasn't Saturday's show live? And why wasn't Davina on hand to interview him in case he did leave? I can't remember if Davina was on stand by for when Kinga left the secret garden but she was there for Jonathan's interview in BB7 and the night Chantelle could have been evicted from CBB4

Wow conspiracy theorists really get carried away huh?
Ever think of this - Rachel told her friends she was going into the house, meaning she probably was, she could be. Maybe stating it with determination that she was. Being positive.
Also note the genuine shock and surprise of people when they were picked. Can people not accept that for the first time ever the short listers found out at the same time as the viewers? It is actually a possible thing to do. It... is... not... impossible.
