View Full Version : Aint it funny how ...
... we are caught in a routine obsession each year with analyzing every little time a housemate slips up and bitches about someone and championing it as a reason to hate them?
Yet ...
... we are far worse than the lot of them with the level of vitriol we direct towards certain housemates? Who we aren't even in the house with?
It only just crossed my mind how odd that is. Take a look at some of the hatred towards Shabby on here. Instead of discussing her merits as a housemate we have people making constant comments on what a filthy dog she is with regards to personal hygiene.
Now, if a housemate bitched even a tenth of the amount we bitch about them, holy war would ensue, right? Just bear that in mind when you get to being ultra judgemental about a bunch of strangers who are getting judgemental aboout each other.
Aint it funny? I mean, we are worse than the lot of them, really. Flip the mirror on yourself. This cat's already realized it.

The thing is Stu.. they have chosen to go on BB. They KNOW that some people will be saying cruel things about them. As a housemate I don't like Shabby and like I said before.. we would be doing her a favour if she is evicted tonight.. rather than her surviving and being hated even more.

Does that really make it any better though? I mean we complain about them for the minorest of things and we are, on the whole, far more horrible and judgemental. I know it's panto but I thought it was interesting to point out. The real monster is the viewers Endemol creates.

seriously - get a life pal, I was done feeling sorry for housemates years ago when they all started realising it was just a quick and easy way to fame and fortune. They have seen how the public reactes over the years and probably been on these forums. All of a sudden they start moaning about the public booing them on arrival and how they are being percieved. Listen fore warned is fore armed and they have had 10 years to get used to this.

I suppose your right Stu.... I am a fan of BB and get really into it. Maybe I should give more "constructive" opinions than just calling Shabby a "vile little troll". I don't think she will care though.. if people who don't even know her say this stuff. You got to learn to ignore it.

Well for a start I never once suggested that we should start to feel sorry for the housemates. That seems to be an assumption you dragged out of your own ass. Secondly, not every housemate wants fame and fortune from the series. That's yet another assumption and yet another example of the type of fan judgement this topic was created to highlight. Thirdly, booing them all on entry is again another example of this same type of fan judgement, given nobody in the rent-a-mob crowd really knows who is who or who wants fame from the experience yet.
I was not suggesting that we rally together and get a little telethon going for the housemates. A little raffle for Davina to host so we can send in some blankets and teddy bears. Nor was I suggesting we shut up and stop with the pantomine hate. No, I was merely pointing out the fundamental - unescapable - hypocrisy the fans carry themselves with, which is down to Endemol urging us on and our own possible insecurities [how would any of us fare in the house I wonder]. It's not something I hate, just something I felt the liberty to point out.
So next time, homeslice, you might want to read over and understand my posts better before you jump to conclusions as harsh as telling me to get a life, because it's a perfect example of the type of narrow ass, caustic judgement the original post was designed to highlight in the first place.
So you managed to both completely miss my point and prove it all at once.
Dig that.

In all seriousness though, you are totally right, I noticed this ages ago.
People go crazy over the littlest comments the HMs make, yet the stuff we say about those little comments, is really awful, and twenty times as bad as the original offending comment if you think about it.
Still fun though ;)

no I get what Stu is saying Vicky, he is correct but also a little bit sanctimonious. Some people do go over the top with their comments but as people we are all critical of other people that's human nature. But they are the ones in the false enviroment where they are all trying to be nice to each other and life just isn't like that, we are the ones reflecting reality which makes "reality tv show" a bit ironic really
anger management anyone!!!

What's funny is when people expect HMs to have a photographic memory of everything they have said in the past on the show, and if they are wrong to claim they must be intentionally lying.
