View Full Version : Homework horrors!

I thought I'd create a thread which can enable us to vent our frustration on annoying pieces of homework, assignments, projects, coursework or just general work!
- Let's face it, I'm more than a little p'd off at present with a bugger of a poetry question that we've been given for homework!:
"In 'My Last Duchess' Browning expresses a view on the difficulties of relationships. Compare the ways in which this theme is explored in one Heaney, one Clarke and one pre-1914 poem."
I mean !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :conf: - I've gone brain dead! :puzzled:
Anybody else got any homework horrors?? (Hopefully not just me Lol!)
Tom. :xyxwave:

'Tis doing my head in!!

Great idea for a thread!
I've moved it to general chat tho'. Hope you don't mind!
I love this period of poetry though, and really enjoyed helping my sons with their A level English. One got an A, and the other a B. Not sure if they learned as much as I did.
Funny, I had no problem buckling down to theirs, but have enormous difficulties buckling down to do my own assignments.
My advice, just start it, bung down some ideas and get on with it! Pity I could never take my own advice really.

Agree with you RoB, in that once I have got a few ideas on the page, it all seems to come together. It's weird in that I normally find poetry and english assignments quite easy, and do now after clearing my head from all the chaos of yesterday!
Congrats to your sons on their great results - they should be proud :hello:
Apparently I'm predicted an A* grade, which is quite scary, but I'm hoping for a pass grade so that can hopefully carry me into the 6th form!
Fingers crossed! :spin2:
Ps. - Thanks for moving the thread - I don't know why it created itself in the X Factor! :conf:

 - Wish I could say that Gazzap!
Seems such a long time ago that I had homeworks on Adam and Eve in RE!!!
Apparently they're now taking us into Ethics, we're studying the moral implications behind life and death, suicide, euthanasia. Basically, pretty much anything you can find that is extremely depressing - we study it in RE!

Hey Guys!
Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately - have been solidly revising for my mock GCSE exams that start tomorrow!! :bawling:
Ive got 5 hrs of exams tomorrow (2hr History, 1hr Chemistry and 1hr Maths Non-Calc)
2hrs 45mins on Thursday (1hr Biology and 1 3/4hrs German
4hrs 45mins on Friday (1hr Physics, 1 3/4 hrs English and 2hrs Graphics
5hrs on Monday (1 1/2hrs History, 1 1/2hrs RE and 2hrs Maths)
And finally about 30mins of German on Tuesday! Woah, I feel sick just thinking about it! :bored:
Anyway, just to say that I probs won't be around for a while until they're finished, due to frantic revision, but I'll be done and dusted after the 21st, and shall see you all then! :hello:
Good luck to anyone else who's got exams! :bouncy:
Enjoy yourselves, See you soon! Tom
