why feel the need to make like 3 threads on him about lying to Sunshine?
no need to pick out Govan in particular! they all said it.

if they were her real friends they'd tell her the truth, Rachael probably would have. Funny how things work out

Just supposing they dont hear it with the same clarity we do, they all feel sunshine is the most unpopular housemate in there, plus they dont have any reason to suspect the outside world will feel any different.
They hear "get ...." then a blurred two syllable name starting with 'S' their mind fills in the rest, even though they may not be 100% convinced what they heard was sunshine as soon as someone else suggests it, it becomes true.
Its a common occurence with the human brain.

They all lied.
In BB5 when someone shouted 'NADIA IS A MAN' over the wall and the guys didn't hear that and said they didn't then fair enough because it was just one guy that shouted it and he was far away and it even took me a while to listen to it again and hear it properly..
But,
In BB11 they heard fully what the crowd shouted.. On the eviction night I did think it was 'Get Shabby Out!' until Davina stopped speaking for abit and I heard 'Get Sunshine Out'
I'm sure the housemates did too  They are just lieing to make her feel better.
Idiots.

It's a stupid lie as nobody chants 'Get someone out', that wouldn't convince anyone.
Stacey.

it was a one on one conversation
a few of them said it directly to her.
not only Govan. you're choosing him obviously because you have a problem with him.

stacey's right, all of sunshines 'friends' lied to her, not just govan.. even JJ lied to her

it was a 1-on-1 conversation
Just because when the other housemates whispered it in her ear, there were other people around. well that makes no difference. it's still 1-2-1.

So you'd prefer it if Govan and the rest of them told her the truth and made her upset and paranoid? What a great fan you are.

When Govan lied to her, I thought it was like white lie. It was certainly nothing like he should be attacked by it.

A white lie is ok, but it's an unbelievable lie. Nobody shouts 'Get someone out'.
Anyway there were shouts heard in the garden well before the eviction that said 'Get Sunshine out' and Govan TOLD Sunshine about them anyway. So she knows that at one time or another people have chanted 'Get Sunshine out'.

better of alone that with friends who lie to your face.
someone needs to tell sunshine that they were shouting that, but they also need to tell her that a few mindless people shouting something means absolutely nothing and the truth is the public voted to keep her in anyway.
i'd imagine that sunshine got the least votes, and that including the fact that people who liked shabby and rachael are the type who tend to vote too. If it were one vote per person i'd imagine sunshine would probably have only got about 10% of the real vote..

They are definitely trying to make Shabby feel she is not that disliked. I don't know if that is because she was near breakdown or because they just want to make her more shocked when she does get evicted.

Have you never heard of 'little white lies' - sometimes necessary to spare a person's feelings - it is called being kind and considerate!
Real friends do do that! I'm not talking about Govan here, as I don't like him, but to say real friends would have told her the truth is ridiculous! That could be called rubbing her nose in it!

did sunshine look like she felt better after govans lies
:wavey:
She probably would have looked just the same, or worse, if they had told her the truth! She wasn't likely to have been running around chanting 'yes' was she!

telling people what they want to hear to sweep an obvious truth under the carpet is no friend to anyone IMO..
telling people the truth and helping with them deal with it is how to be a proper friend.

I don't see anything wrong with them trying to comfort and reassure her.

comfort her and reassure her by lying to her face
:conf:
If they all said, "Yeah Sunshine, they hate you, I heard it", they'd be accused of being nasty. In my opinion, they were right to try to cheer her up.
I would call that a white lie.. to save somebodys feelings!
It's hardly malicious is it!
did you see her face after govan ran off and left her
patronising somebody is malicious
Ok, maybe they weren't doing it to save her feelings. They were maybe trying to save their own ears/sanity. If they had all admitted what they heard, Sunshine would have harped on for hours about it and made a completely unnecessary scene. She likes being the victim and I'm sure it would have turned into an evening of Sunshine Sunshine Sunshine.. I think she's a headcase..
I don't blame them, as Sunshine does tend to get offended easily, for example the veruca joke.

They keep trying to wind her up, even her 'friends'. But really some of these jokes aren't just jokes they have a purpose beyond just lightheartedness, it is all part of the game.
And the people who make the fuss over her being a vegan are trying to undermine her. Sunshine does not have to defend what she eats.

It is interesting subject about "white lie".
We should discuss it later with another thread.
