Onside too, the ball never touched a NZ head.

In the ad break Ladbrokes were offering 15/1 on a 5 - 0 Italian win. Ha! You could get 14/1 on NZ win by any score, elsewhere????

Good job I didn't put Buffon back into my fantasy team for today lol only got Zambrotta in for this game.

Italy only need 30 seconds, and a kick up the arse.

James
20-06-2010, 03:36 PM
They look lacking in ideas. Making a few more chances now.

Portugal need a win too.

setanta
20-06-2010, 04:23 PM
I'm telling you though - Brazil aren't comfortable either after that 2-1 against NK. Ivory Coast will be playing for a draw tonight I'd say and then it could all go down to goal difference. They'll be hard to break down for Brazil.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 04:24 PM
I think Argentina have this WC in the bag already.

setanta
20-06-2010, 04:26 PM
I think Argentina have this WC in the bag already.

I'm not so sure. Holland have started slowly and have Robben to come back. They were my darkhorse from the start and I'm convinced that they'll go far. Argentina are dodgy at the back and that'll bite them in the arse at some stage.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 04:45 PM
yeah, too early to pick a winner. in the kO's anything's likely to happen. Still, the top teams seem to always make it to the final.

GiRTh
20-06-2010, 05:05 PM
I think one of the struggling teams will make the semis if not the final. One out of Italy, England, France or Germany.

Yeah, it's usually very predictable once you get to the semis. Still though, I'd love one of the smaller teams to go on a run, especially one or two of the ones who've impressed me, Chile being top of my list in that regard. They honestly could knock Spain out. I like Mexico too but they were playing against an utterly crap side so can't rate them yet.

setanta
20-06-2010, 05:16 PM
Oh, and like I said - Ivory Coast could spoil things for Brazil tonight. Stranger things have already happened in this tournament.

20-06-2010, 06:06 PM
Is Daniel Alvez injured?

EDIT: I've got two Ivory Coast players in my fantasy team so hope he is injured.

Fairly dour first half with hardly any chances. Fabiano converted that goal beautifully though. So now the Ivory Coast have to go for it. I'm not convinced about Brazil to be honest with you.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:23 PM
Brazil have another gear. They shifted up in a couple of flashes. There'll be lots of that come the KO's

I'm still not sure about it. Can't see them beating a big team. Portugal vs Brazil will be interesting. Still though, they've got a formidable defense that'll take some breaking down.

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:32 PM

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:39 PM

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:40 PM
Ah Drogba. Stick it away for feck sake.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:40 PM
F&ck sake Drogba!

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:44 PM
I honestly don't understand why the ref can't just have a quick look up at the replay in a situation like that. It's just common sense, right?

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:45 PM
That ref is in trouble, see him asking Fabiano if it was hb?

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:46 PM
Yeah, I saw that replay. Very weird.

But yeah, they sent off Zidane in 2006 after viewing the incident off the tv set so why not do the same now? I'll never understand it.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:49 PM
Too easy

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:51 PM
Yeah, that's Brazil for you. Have to take your chances against them because no matter how badly they're playing in attack they'll always create goal scoring opportunities, especially when they are a few goals ahead and confident.

Nemo123
20-06-2010, 07:53 PM

In boxing parlance, this is a mismatch.

setanta
20-06-2010, 07:58 PM
In boxing parlance, this is a mismatch.

It's only cuz Brazil got that second goal that should have been disallowed. They remind me of Federer. Once he develops a lead and is in the groove it's very hard to live with him, but if you push him around and stay with him for awhile he starts to get nervous. Same thing applies to Brazil.

GiRTh
20-06-2010, 08:03 PM
Ivory Coast have flattered to deceive. Considering how many top players (Like Yaya Toure, Drogba), current or ex-Premiership players they've got they've been totally lackluster.

KG.
20-06-2010, 08:05 PM
Brazil are definitely in their stride now, they're playing amazingly.

setanta
20-06-2010, 08:05 PM
They were just playing to contain Brazil and maybe grab a goal from something. That went out the window after the first goal went in.

Well done Drogba.

King Gizzard
20-06-2010, 08:05 PM
Well lets just hope they get knocked out in the last 16

setanta

No they're not; they're just a strong unit, that's all. Workmanlike stuff. Perfect though at the beginning of the World Cup.

Does Toure get an assist.? Sweet!!!!!!!

KG.

I should've put Eboue on for Cannavaro, Cannavaro only got me 3 points today :(

GiRTh
20-06-2010, 08:13 PM
Eboue has been one of the biggest disappointments in 2nights game.

Toure has scroed a monster 9 points for me. How do you score 9 points in a 3-1 thrashing?:joker:

MissKittyFantastico
20-06-2010, 08:18 PM
What an absolute fcking joke, he didn't hardly touch him let alone elbow him in the face, and he was ran into!

If that doesn't get overturned it's an absolute farce, the ref didnt even see it!

King Gizzard

Kader Keita should be embarassed the way he through himself. That being said it was silly from Kaka getting involved just minutes after receiving a yellow...

MissKittyFantastico
20-06-2010, 10:14 PM
Kaka didn't get involved though, he barely even touched him and only raised his shoulder in defense because Keita barged into him.

King Gizzard

Mike

The minute Keita went down Kaka was involved unfortunately. He ended up playing right into their hands...
