RTE just have the best guys for analysis and fun. They pull no punches and don't fawn over players. Love watching them.

We're very lucky to have them. I mean, they can get it wrong sometimes but at least they're opionated and honest at the time. You know that they're getting recognized abroad now for being the best pundits on tv?

John Giles managed and played for at the same time, Ireland, West Brom, and Shamrock Rovers. All at the same time. Won West Brom promotion to Div 1.

He wasn't dirty. He was one of the great Leeds side of the late 60's erly 70's.
When he managed Ireland he'd make the gk throw the ball to him and then play little one-twos up the pitch. Hated the long ball.

Leeds darling, Leeds. You had to be physical and intimidating on that team. He was well able to handle himself in that respect. They were a filthy team. Renowned for it.

No they weren't. Not at all. I can name nearly all of them from memory.
Sprake/Harvey, Cherry, Reenie, Madely, Charlton, Bremner, Giles, Hunter, Gray, Jones, Clarke, Lorimar
None of them dirty players.

ARe you being serious? Hunter?! They were filthy. But fair play to them, it won them trophies.

It's a myth. They weren't called dirty at the time. I don't know when that one started. I think Clough, who hated Revie, is behind that lie. They won trophies because they outplayed teams.

I like there frankness and directness. Whereas BBC and ITV try to give us some kind of 'Entertainment' show, these guys just call it as they see it.

They were a good team, there's no denying that, but they were also tough as fu£k. Feared by teams.

They're great. REally. Have to find the one about Roy Keane so that you can see they don't show any bias. Just call a spade a spade.

Dunphy's Keane's biographer, wasn't he? So he wasn't exactly impartial.

Oh yeah, Dunphy is a chancer, but I love him for it. Just waffles away and it's always controversial and enjoyable.

That's the one. Sorry for the poor sound quality but it's an absolute classic. He calls Niall Quinn a creep among other things. Brilliant viewing.

Cantona turned around Man U, not Keane. And Keane was a thug, with 2 counts of GBH on a football field I saw.
Dunphy's an arse. Great viewing.

Cantona was the cataylst, that's for sure, but Keane was the engine of that United team for a long, long time, for quite a while after Cantona had left the fold.

The panels response to Terry's crazy press conference. Think Souness is spot on here.

That's a point about money corrupting them. You could say he's jus jellus, the most he ever got paid in a week was about £4k. I've an image of A Cole dangling 5 grand and his willy in front of some bloke, and all the bling-bling and the footballers' wives, and I want to smash their teeth in.
That's grown-up stuff you get on RTE, not for the faint-hearted.

Yep, and it's rubbing off on Souness. He's alot more controversial when he goes on Sky now and they don't know how to deal with him.
