View Full Version : This could turn quite nasty

Ben is weak, surprisingly. He doesn't handle confrontation very well, you can tell, it's plastered all over his face and body language.
Shabby? The opposite.
It already appears to be getting to him...and if it carries on/gets worse...it could really get quite nasty, if you ask me.
And this is another reason as to why Govan and Shabby must not leave this week.

Shabby and Govan should leave.

Gollum + confrontation?
LOL, he just goes and bitches about things, or else he would have asked Ben himself what he meant.

But then there's no storyline whatsoever. This is the only thing that'll keep this fail of a series going.

Nope, there are plenty of housemates there ready to step up to the plate when they leave.

That's irrelevant though, whether he bitches or not he'll still cause arguments and stir sh!t up.
It's a storyline that'll be killed if Govan, Shabby, Ben, JJ and possibly a couple of others leave.

Can't see it, they'll all get on like a house on fire.

I have noticed, especially in tonight's show, that Shabby is using the sofas to assert her status. Perhaps something she learned through acting, but something people would inherently do, is to physically make herself higher than Ben. Ben looked weak as she was then higher than him, and he was standing there leaning on Mario. It was very very clear than Ben was feeling belittled and probably intimidated. I agree with the OP that Ben doesn't seem to handle confrontation very well, but he is the one that keeps putting his foot in it, whether intentionally or not.
This is very interesting to watch, I'd like to see how this develops over time.
I hope Shabby stays, not because I particularly like her, but she's part of a few interesting scenarios in the house.
I'd like Dave to go, personally.

The most that'll happen is they will drive Ben into leaving. Id rather they both be out before then.

Things always get found out in the end in there, his bitching isnt needed.
And also not every storyline needs to be revolved around an argument, like you say there are other housemates which cause arguments, but maybe all this drama is hindering another storyline to develop?

110% Agrees.
And I think anyone that votes Shabby or Govan out is a *****ing bellend who really just wants BB11 to die on its arse.

Govan is just a lacky. He'll agree with anyone he thinks has power at that moment. If you want the drama, Shabby is more important to the current crap going on. But the series won't die without either of them. There's always another drama coming roung the corner. Most of the housemates this year have the potential to wind each other up in a viewer-friendly way if given the right provocation, with the probable exception of Nathan. I mean, why is he there, apart from the cooking?!!

Just an observation from these past 10 years of watching BB. It always concerned me that people like to see confrontations, arguments, and bullying in the house. Since BB5 when evil ruled, characters put in deliberately to antagonise others, its become increasingly worse. Why oh why do such characters attract people's attention and then wrongly become 'big characters' in the house? Its a worrying side of society whereby people prefer arguments, heated at times, confrontations bordering on bullying, and causing rifts within the house, we see nasty characters in there year after year. Really nasty scumbag types some of them yet people would rather they see these nasty creatures on their screens rather than decent individuals. To my way of thinking a nice decent person likes nice decent housemates and only a nasty individual by nature prefers to watch nasty types. Like watches like?. We all love to hate the villain but surely no one in their right mind would love evil scheming backstabbing vile little argumentative ****ehawks we see year in year out? I might be new here but an avid fan since BB3 so I know what I'm talking about.

Can you honestly say that you would watch Big Brother if everyone was a nice person and got along?

True! Be nice if housemates were just like quirky and funny on their own without needing people. Sunshine is a bit like this.. but hasn't had much air time.. yeah a storyline does not have to be revolved around an argument but it seems mostly the arguments keeping bb11 going. Caiohme will just lead Shabby on.. they won't even kiss or anything because Caiohme has a boyfriend...

not saying that at all, life is not like that, arguments when a situation goes that way, but not for the reasons we have seen confrontations within the house, characters and ego's not gelling and attention seeking individuals going around causing problems. You forget the original idea of this programme was to throw in a dozen or so characters into an enclosed environment and set them tasks. To see whom could survive under set conditions. It was a psychological experiment and that should have still been the basis of this show. Trying to outsmart 11 or so others, win tasks and survive evictions in order to win the prize at the end. Now it seems its no holds barred lets scramble all over one another, gouging eyes and pulling hair out in order to win or get some mag deal out of it.

This.
I do like the nice decent people like Ben and Mario..... I also like the argumentative types like John and Shabby.
It's a tv show.. yes I would not be friends with argumentative type people in the outside world.. but if you are stuck in there you have to "deal with it". You are safer in the house than in the outside world.. when someone can get you round a backstreet corner and slice you up!
Anywho BB edits it all and BB loves the arguments and housemates bitching and being paranoid.. they have probs cut out Sunshine's quirkyness or other interesting stuff for this ongoing rubbish! well it is not rubbish lol but yeah the only thing going at the mo.

Yepp. I think Ife, Caoimhe and Shabby could be similar to Rodrigo and Sophie last year and be a fun, quirky trio. However the arguments are taking up all the air time...
Even if the 2 groups just plotted against each other without any confrontation for a while would be great, so that it gets tense and the HM's get sly. Dont get me wrong a good argument is interesting, but constantly would get boring, a big explosion of one after the friction is what we need, not all this really petty nonsense Govan spreads.

Your last sentence is true.. a lot has changed in the last 10 years.. it is way past a social experiment.

I can see where you're coming from, but even BB's most long term fans can admit that the first series... the one with lots of nice people was quite boring compared to later seasons.
If there's anything I have to complain about is that genuine heated arguments are very rare in Big Brother these days and even less so in this series. Most of it is one person shouting down another or bitching with the other in the bedroom. Plus the bullying is now a lot more sinister than in BB5 and BB5 had plenty of fights.
