I hope he continues to wear what he likes as he has every right to do - and not ever made to feel uncomfortable about doing so by such immature, shallow views! Somehow I think he would laugh and not give a toss what you think! The problem is yours - not his!

He's obviously proud of his tatoos so wears sleeveless.........not my cup of tea, but fair play to him.
I find Shabby's hat more offensive. Plus I always imagine how it must reek of brow sweat by now.

Are you serious - or just being a wind-up merchant? How in any way, shape or form does showing his arm relate to showing his c*ck!
I would imagine that is everyone thought like you - no one would want to bother signing up and protecting their country and its citizens - as they wouldn't be worth the bother!

I agree with OP, in some way ,I have had breast cancer and wear a false boob ,but Never, ever would i go out without it in ,I wont even walk around my home without it or even go to bed without it ,If I did I think people would rightly think I was screaming"Look at me and pity me"I know some people do and think its ok ,but each to their own ,and for me I would feel too uncomfortable ,and in this way if I were Steve I would not have my arm on show ,as it invited people to ask how he got it ,and it screams "Look at me,pity me"

No offence - but I think that it is the shallow society we live in that probably makes you feel that way. I don't think people should be worried about showing any physical imperfections - due to a fear of others thinking they were attention-seeking.

No its not that in my case it is self pride and not wanting attention ,I do not think you have to walk about showing the world your troubles ,however you got them ,your scars etc should be yours alone ,and dont think you should ram them in someones face ,I have an exceptional quezzy stomach and I could not eat if he sat opposite me ,If i am in a restraunt and someone is a sloppy eater or had food on their chin etc my knife and fork go down and thats me down ,there are people like that and you should respect them

It's vile that some people actually think he should hide what has happened to him. Noone should be made to feel like they need to hide any physical deformities that they have especially ones like Steve's which he got through honour and fighting for his country. I think he'd be more mortified to think he has fought for people as narrow-minded as you than the fact that your 'offended' by his body!

There's a huge difference in those things you mentioned and a scar like Steve's. Scars are very hard/impossible to cover up and you're stuck with them for life, so you have to learn to love them, or end up hiding yourself away for the rest of your life and cause great mental distress to yourself. Why should someone have to do that just because to some small minded, shallow people it may cause offence?

Steve has nothing to be ashamed of, I bet if you did a poll on here right now and asked how many people are offended by his scar, more people would answer no than yes, as would most of the viewing public. Only a small minority would be fickle and shallow enough to be bothered by a bloody scar! Jesus.

Everyone has an opinion. Chuff me dizzy I respect yours - that's how you choose to live your life, and tbh I couldn't be bothered one way or the other.
Here's the point: it's Steve's choice whether he covers up the scar or not. Just because you think it's "self pride" doesn't mean he should have to hide part of who he is, or even have to think about concealing his scar. He's not asking for attention, pity, or praise. He's just being himself.
So let's all move on.

If you want to get on with your life, why distinguish yourself in such a way (in Steve's case, wearing a revealing top) that every everybody will notice what happened to you?
He wears what he feels comfortable in - has bugger all to do with advertising his scars! I can't believe anyone would actually think that! It is very warm at the moment, in case you hadn't noticed, last thing he is likely to want to do - is cover up! And neither should he!

I don't see any of the other blokes wearing vests.
In all fairness, he probably just doesn't give a sh*t what people think of him which is great. He is a no-nonsense antidote to all of the other mollycoddled brats in the house.

Maybe the OP and those who support his opinion would prefer not to be able to see scars, lack of limbs or any physical deformity out in public either.
Do they advocate all disabled people to stay at home or in homes where the healthy able bodied general public doesnt have to view them?
God forbid that someone just be themselves and get on with their lives regardless of their injuries or deformities.
Would the OP wear a burka if someone objected to the colour or the texture of their skin?

Cannot believe how shallow and narrow minded people can be, Steven has the right to wear or not wear what he likes, if you don't like it then don't watch.

You might as well have said, i can't stand Steve's metal legs.
He can't help the way his arms look. You can tell he damaged them in the war, there is really bad scaring as if his arm(s) has had to be attached back into place.

I love this topic, it made me chuckle on the inside, because we're all supposed to be politically correct and cool and say 'oh it's all about personality' but that's rubbish, looks are really important. Like if it was Becks , because she is not black or disabled we can all say stuff like 'omg what a lardy munter' etc. I aint bothered too much about how steve looks, but i bet it smells a bit cheesy when he gets his false legs off, and that snoring ffs.

the only thing that makes me want to vom is the small minded out dated views on things like this it goes back to the whole issue about the cbeebies presenter
my dad is now registered disabled and has a lot and i mean a lot of scars like steve has on his arm on his legs but he doesnt cover them up just so a small group of people with stupid views dont get upset by the sight of them. a lot of people in here disgust me to be fair my 5 year old isnt bothered by big scars some people need to grow up

Have you known many amputees? Cos I have known a few and not once have I experienced a 'cheesy' smell from theirs stumps when they have been changing their limbs.
As for the scar tissue on his arm - it's just bloody scar tissue. It's not an open, infected wound! What is with people and 'feeling sick' at someone else's disability. How can looking at prosthetic limbs make one queasy? Are you all afraid of your own death or potential to be disfigured? Is that the issue?

I thought this thread would be unanimously condemned as a troll thread - but some of the teenys seem to want to watch Hollyoaks and the Rachaels of this world flounce about rather than confront reality (BB's failing is that C4 didn't turn it into a 24/7 Hollyoaks I guess)

Unfortunately, you can't just ignore a troll thread when it gets responses "oh yeah I agree, I saw it while eating my tea and almost sicked"
You just can't allow sprogs to carry-on this way
Steve seems to be incredibly well adjusted regarding his injuries, such a shame the same can't be said for some of the repugnant individuals on here.

Ive not even noticed his arms. Odd what some fixate on. Here we have a man with no legs, one eye and missing fingers...yet its his tattooed arms that are grabbing your attention? A bit weird.
Anyways, I think he's earned the right to do what he damn well likes. His sob story is a million times more valid than that self pitying wimp from down under. Fact.

Why should he cover them up, and not wear what the hell he wants? He has a scar on his face as well, should he wear a paper bag too then?
Appalling subject.

Ok, I finally saw what all the fuss was about...
And grow the hell up. The way you were talking was as if he had big mouldy tentacles coming out of it or something. Many people have scars. And tbh the fact that I didnt even notice this 'offensive' scar until I actually LOOKED for it, makes this whole thing even funnier(in a sick way) to me.
Take it you were just looking for faults..no surprise there then :bored:

What a shallow minded thread. That's like you saying that because someone has a disfigured face, because of burns etc. they should have to cover their faces up if they went into public. Extremely small minded view.

I agree with OP, in some way ,I have had breast cancer and wear a false boob ,but Never, ever would i go out without it in ,I wont even walk around my home without it or even go to bed without it ,If I did I think people would rightly think I was screaming"Look at me and pity me"I know some people do and think its ok ,but each to their own ,and for me I would feel too uncomfortable ,and in this way if I were Steve I would not have my arm on show ,as it invited people to ask how he got it ,and it screams "Look at me,pity me"
He is obviously hot so wears a sleeveless top. I don't think he is looking for attention because he has both his legs missing too. Why should he cover up to make people less comfortable? We need to get over ourselves and realise this is the real world.
That man suffered god knows what and you can't even turn a blind eye to his injuries. Imagine you suffered an injury and people told you they didn't want to be around you or work with you. How would you feel, or if that was a relative of yours.
Thinking someones scar or disability should be covered up for us to not have to look at is cruel and insensitive. Don't look its that simple.:nono:
