I have heard many women complain ''women never win'' shows like BB because of some sort of bias. I call BS.
Let's see:
Sophie Reade
Nadia Almada
Kate Lawler
Rachel Rice
Ulrika Johnson
Chantelle Houghton
and Shilpa Shetty
These have all won either regular BB or CBB, so assertions that women don't do well on these kinds of shows is a blatant falsehood.
Waiting for whingers to disagree :eyeroll:

I don't know about the celebrity one as that is a different kind of show and maybe audience even in some ways.
But someone like Kate would not win nowadays. People would say she was too needy, too attention seeking etc etc. Maybe she was seen as a bit of a tomboy which may have played well with some of the audience. Sophie was not really a strong woman, or that glamorous either with the weight she put on. Nadia was a transexual and so was viewed somewhat in that way. Rachel again something of a girl next door type, not that glamorous in her looks to worry any of the audience Some kinds of women can do well on the shows in some situations, but it is a limited type and has grown even more limited over time.
I'm not so familiar with CBB. But we know why Shilpa won, the whole bullying story. Chantelle won as she was a non-celebrity.

Nadia was a man. But i agree don't get why anyone would think that.
However JJ has a chance of winning cause women fancy him and i would assume with lower viewing figures now it is mainly women watching? so perhaps a girl has less chance but that is assuming girls just don't vote for girls which isn't right cause it depends on the person innit.

I think I counted the 10 regular UK BB winners recently, and it was 6 guys to 4 women I believe. I didn't count the celeb ones.
Anyway my point is it's pretty even. Anything beyond that like 7 to 3 or 8 to 2 there'd be a point.
Nadia was a man, but not when she went on BB she wasn't.

Nadia is not a woman. Just because a guy calls himself female does not make it so.

Women don't complain about it.
Men do.
Men accuse us of being jealous everytime a female is evicted.

Kate Lawlor won because she was a great housemate. She was fun to watch, and enjoyed herself despite Alex, Jade etc trying to bring her down. She didn't have to rely on screaming fits and bitching to win either. She is one of my favourite housemates ever!
I don;t complain about women not winning, I complain about the type of women who win! :D

I think the reason is that majority of Live Feed viewers during the day are female

Nowadays some of the audience would probably accuse Kate of being too friendly with the men in the house. Women are strongly judged by their looks on the show (Kate was seen as a tomboy for instance) and there's an increasing antipathy to any 'romance' on the show.

Yeah but it was more playful i think more akin to a josie than a noirin or someone but it would be interesting to see how certain HM would be percieved different now or then

She didn't have a romance! She was basically herself and that won her fans. Good on her too!

Well romance/very close friendship there can be a rather small boundary between them. I think I remember her saying she fancied quite alot of the men in the house. I think I remember something about a game called 'follow the van' as well, some bedroom antics.
