I was out over in Blackpool pleasure beach the week end when I heard the bobsleigh fell off the track (no injuries) it was not reopened. On my 'lunchbreak' I found out an 11 year old fell out of space invader and got ripped open in 2000. Does anyone know if theres anymore? Alt towers, drayton, euro disney, florida?
Its horrificly intresting

he didnt get 'ripped open' he just fell from high up and died, i remember a 16 year old girl died from a log flume type ride in wales she just fell from the top like the boy on space invader. i think somebody died at one of the ug land rides in alton towers, a man got run over by one of the rides at camelot and died, there have been loads of theme park deaths, mainly in america though

actually yeah wtf? how did avalanche fall off the track? its sort of impossible for that to happen because the train/cart thing is actually wider that the sides of track if that makes sense. idk though i havent been for like 3 years lol

i didnt see it fall off, it was the rumour for closing, it didnt have enough speed i guess and then just stopped, it didnt actually fall on to the floor, so the boy in space invader just fell from the ride and landed on the floor? thats pretty horrible.. imagine finding him

theres a ride in euro disney i just found out, which is an island and two dumbass kids got of the ride and hid, not realisung they would never get back from off the island haha, they tried to swim back but one of them drown.

OMG how creepy if you was working on that space invader and you saw the kid get on the ride but then when it came back there was nobody on it! ahhhh ive been on it (after the kid died) and i queued for like and hour and a half and i was like omg this is gonna be brill because the queue was so big but it was actually pretty ****. you have one of those things that comes over your shoulders to keep you in, i dont know what they are called lol, and somebody told me that before the kid died there was only like a metal bar to keep you in that you could lift up yourself and he lifted the bar and tried to stand up thats why he died

i think the worst story i heard is the batman ride at six flags in america, some kid dropped his hat in a restricted area and he jumped a barrier to get the hat but the ride came back and actually chopped his head off  it sounds far-fetched but its actually true! google it

My dad went on a ride back in the day, don't ask me what or where I forgot now, but it broke down whilst they were upside down and they were stuck like that for a good 20 minutes or so and they all thought they were going to die from blood rushing to their head, pretty scary stuff... Apparently it happened again last year or 2008, on the exact same ride and the same position and stuff. :s
Does anyone know which I'm talking about?

I remember i was scared to get on rollercoasters then i got on one and loved it! so i went on another and this was a wooden one, it was terrifying then i get to the bottom and the other coaster that goes round was broken, the front of it was smashed,

Never got on one since.

There have been loads of deaths at Disneyland parks, some of them were accidential but a lot were down to the rides. Makes me sort of scared because I'm going to the one in Florida next month but I always belive you have to live life in the fast lane. :)

Some of these rumours may have come from these incidents (http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/deaths.asp) and this one (http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/amersing.asp) recorded on Snopes

However not all of these stories are true, see here (http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/parks.asp) for a more exhaustive list

Lightwater valley. I went on it then when me and my friend just came off it, she told me that someone died in the ride a few months before. I was like D:

the last one that springs to my mind was a 17 year old that was killed at a theme park in atlanta a couple of years ago he rode a batman rollercoaster that opened amongst loads of hype and he lost his baseball cap so he climbed over the fence to get it back and was decapitated by the ride on its way round the track again.

theres a website dedicated to fairground accidents at a glance on the homepage it looks like theres about 30 accidents so far just this year its pretty frightening and its put me off a bit just reading a few of them. The travelling fairgrounds scare me more than themeparks because if you have to dismantle a ride then rebuild it once a week every week over and over again your going to get complacent about it eventually and not pay full attention to what your bolting together for the 30th time that year.

We have that at our fair... it's scary shiz man! (I look around fairs, and do not go on anything :P)!

At our fair this year, they had this ride that was a 2 seater seat, and there were about 10 attatched to the centre thing. It bounced around really hard and pretty fast, proper making the people get jarred up and down, and this lad fell off it and broke his leg, arm, and hurt his neck very badly... :( I was there at the time, saw the ambulance pull up, but didn't see it happen! I think he's on the road to recovery now though... x

The only one I know of is the Oakwood incident on the Hydro ride where a girl fell out of her seat when she was on the top because she wasn't fastened in properly. I know a boy that was there that day and her shoe had come off as it happened and hit him on his head so knocked him out :(

I was in Blackpool the week that boy fell from the bobsleigh ride, we visited Pleasure Beach the day before and 2 days after the accident and saw all the police and the tape and stuff. Terrible.

I remember that girl falling from a GREAT height in Oakwood on that log flume ride, awful incidents!

Kind of off-topic but I could have been killed by the result of a rollercoaster... the loop-the-loop ride in Blackpool (where you go forward then backwards around that big loop). Well I was only small at the time and was watching it from underneath the loop when a camera (the big, beefy disposable ones) flew off someone on the ride and hit me in the head knocking me out and gashing my head along the top!!

BAD TIMES.

Who cares about the deaths at theme parks when this is on wikipedia
In 1976, a woman filed a lawsuit claiming one of the Three Little Pigs ran up to her at the "it's a small world" attraction, grabbed at and fondled her while exclaiming "Mommy! Mommy!" She claimed to have gained 50 pounds as a result of the incident and sued Disney for $150,000 in damages for assault and battery, false imprisonment and humiliation. The plaintiff dropped charges after Disney's lawyers presented her with a photo of the costume, which had only inoperable stub arms.
