Global warming myth...???
What brought us out of the ice age 300 million years ago?
NASA say the planet has been cooling down over the last 5 years.
The planet has warmed up 0.7% over the last 160 years.
The planet warms and cools, how did Ben put it, Cycryling? (on a cycle basis). Basicly, humans have no serious input either way, but monsters in political positions blame us so they can tax us.

Climate Change is a natural phenomena that's happened more than once in history. We humans could do with cleaning up our act, but "Climate Change" is a well-publicised myth to take taxes from us. I get annoyed seeing how much light polution from our towns and cities is visible from space every night, and then being asked not to leave my TV on standby.
Ben's got it right.

Most people believe the myth politicians and the media export about global temperatures, so Ben wasn't pandering to the masses, he was giving his opinion. You have to admire him for that, and saying we should be allowed to say what we want without the far left telling us we're bad people for doing so.
Ben has stood up for decency against the odds, we shouldn't be shooting him down, we should be applauding him, because what he did benefits everyone.

..George Monbiot of The Guardian tracked down Bellamy's original source for this information and found that it was Fred Singer's website. Actually there has been warming, even this year while we were having the coldest winter for 30 years, other areas were having record warmth. Melbourne for example had the warmest night for 50 years or something & now while we are having a warm & very dry spell in the UK, Sydney has had it's coldest June night in 70 years...
Where one part of the globe is warmer another may be cooler, so it balances out... But the general trend is still a warming one...

I just fell off my chair! its a global rise in 2 degrees not just switch the fans on time in your room. If global temps rise then the cryosphere will be damaged causing ice melt...flooding ..crops to ruin...damaged ecosystems... not just a hot day but a long period of change that many..including people wont be able to cope with...famine etc on HUGE scale

Indeed it's the global AVERAGE that is to rise 2 degress, not that we will get 14C in January instead of 12C! A 2C average rise could see temps as much as 10-15C higher, so even in the UK we could be looking at summer time temps of 40C +... Bad for us, but for countries like Africa & Australia it would be devastating...

How long is a trend. Should we go back 5 years, 50 years, 500 years or 3 million years. What caused our planet to be 10 times hotter than it is today? What brought it out of the ice age 300 million years ago?

When water freezes, it expands, thus when it melts, it doesn't take up as much space as frozen. 5 years ago we had an average temperature increase, no floods, no ruined crops, no damaged ecosystems, we coped very well.

ok im not gonna joke on this post ill be serious
if one scientist says one thing and another says the opposite its a choice of who to believe
if the global warming of recent years is caused primarily by human activity as the government scientists say and this warming is as dangerous as they say ie famine floods blah blah blah
then why do they not just BAN fossil fuels
no, instead they come up with with carbon tax and green technology etc which makes those who invest in it, most famous being Al Gore, very very rich indeed
that is all the proof i need to know its bull****, i dont even need to speak a scientist on either side

Theres no PROOF that any climate change is man made.Might be tempting to jump to the conclusion it is which is why much of the public are prepared to swallow it.Powers that be are constantly looking for ways to panic the population presenting them with a host of enemies real and imagined.Ben is a real libertarian for his courageous stance.

these numbers vary over 5 and 10 year cycles. The longer trend can be hidden if you look only at the last 5 years. 200 years because that's when all the inventions of the scientific age began to be applied in industry.

In the UK the general warming trend has actually only been really evident for around the last 30 years... Before that we had some seriously cold winters in the 40's, 60's & 70's which lowered the average...

government scientist A: hey jeff, what you think caused the ending of the last ice age?
government scientist B: well, from what ive read, their was an increase in testosterone in the men, they started to get very horny and everyone started ****in like rabbits, so more people yeah... that means more farting and more fires to keep everyone warm, and more log fires meant more horny couples ****in like rabbits, see cause and effect, CO2 increases simple
government scientist A: never thought of that, nice one mate, lets present our findings to the UN

they don't make global warming predictions based on only UK temps. Locally they predict temps in UK to get colder as a result of global warming because that area will get more northerly winds from the arctic. ( something to do with changes in sea convection currents in the Northern Atlantic).

I'm aware of that, but I was just making the point that warming hasn't been evident in the UK since the 1800's, hence my trends being over 20 years or so, as that is the period that our Met Office has statistics for a warming period... With 10 or so of the warmest years on record being recorded since 1990...

Oh yeah I very much believe in global warming, unfortunately as here in the UK we have had two cold winters in the last two years many are trying to discredit it, not realising that climate change (a better description than global warming) will see dramatic variations in the climate, not simply getting hotter...
