We can't spell her name and shouldn' be expected to (which is fair otherwise we'd have to use the original Hebrew for Binyamin, Natan) as most of us are unlikely to meet another Caoimhe

I agree Fraaanhec Eegh, why would you be expected to spell her name right, of course she's not from Britain and you don't have the time to learn the pronunciation of foreign names, btw, where did your name originate from?

It's a different language, what is so hard to understand about that, did you expect her to change her name before going the show in case a few ignorant *****ers couldn't spell it?:joker:

people need to get a ****ing life seriously. yes she's from ireland, and most irish people's names aren't pronounced the way they look, its not that hard to remember how to spell it it's actually discrimination what you are doing cuz you're treating her different to the other housemates.

No one is asking you to. Nadia is a Russian name, doesn't mean you have to learn Russian to pronounce it. My name is Niamh, there is no english translation for it, it's an Irish name, so I would expect people do me the courtesy of atleast trying to pronounce it, it's not really hard for people of average intelligence to retain the pronunciations really.

This is actually just an attempt to rile up the Irish as a nation, it's low, I'd be ashmed to be Forraahnce

Well, If a person with a Welsh name introduced them selves to me, I would do my best with it anyway! I wouldn't be expecting them to change their name that's for sure!

I know I'm just being silly. I just used it as an example to help you understand that it is easier for us with non Gaelic tongues (or thought processes) to write Keeva etc.. I still have to do a double take when her correct spelling is used. ;)

I'm Scottish and my mum speaks a wee bit Gaelic.

I have been out with a couple of Irish girls in my time and once lost contact with one because I couldn't spell her name - it is pronounced Breege but I know it's not spelled like that. :D

That's fair enough, I understand that, it's not really that, that bothers me, it's the really insulting comments that piss me off.
