I'm noticing a worrying pattern here the last 2 years on the executive's choice of Irish housemates. Not really any point in voicing my opinion because Big Brother isn't coming back next year, but anyway!

Last year it was Noirin, the backstabbing mynx who everyone hated.
This year it's Caoimhe, the annoying, boring, bitchy gob****e - again who everyone hated.


I just think it's unfair to have these 2 morons be a representation of the Irish on a show like this because it's not an accurate portrayal of what our country is actually like? It annoys me :P

I dont think you need to worry too much about it, most people who watch BB realise that most housemates are not in anyway representative of their country of origin, religious beliefs or sexual persuasion. I dont think people would for example believe that Lisa and Shabby accurately represent the Lesbian community.

Or then again maybe some do, however in that case I wouldnt put too much store in people who stereotype a nation or any form of demographic group because of some exhibits on a freak show.

Individuals are put in, who just happen to be from places or a social minority, but are only representing themselves.

It's not BBs job to care about how individuals make others think of their country or minority tbh.

Why do people feel the need to catagorise and label housemates? The world is full of multi-faceted people and stereotyping isn't necessary as more often than not people will not fill all the stereotypical traits. There are plenty of annoying housemates that are not irish or scottish that do not match the traits of their stereotype too.
