A discussion about Adolf Hitler caused two different arguments between housemates this afternoon.
The conversation began when Ben spoke about past British prime ministers and how the Nazis could have been stopped before World War II began.
Caoimhe got annoyed after David called Hitler a "demon", accusing him of bringing religion into the debate.
As Caoimhe marched to the bedroom, David joined her and said: "Don't expect me to stop talking the way I would in the outside world."
Caoimhe responded by saying that he brings religion "into everything" and that "you're basically justifying it because he had the devil in him".
The pair continued to argue, with David saying that she wanted "to shut down who I am" and that she "brings out negativity in people", calling what just happened as a "prime example".
He continued: "If you someone have a different opinion you attack it. You don't realise how you cut across the atmosphere."
When Caoimhe apologised and went to leave the bedroom, David said: "One thing I'll never do is shut down your opinions. We've all got the right to have an opinion."
Meanwhile, Ben put across his opinions about WWII, but Steve didn't agree, saying: "You've got no right to say that. Who are you? You're not an MP."
Ben was upset with Steve's reactions, saying: "You're saying you can only have a political opinion if you're in government."

Caoimhe really seems to have a big problem with religion. I'm not overly religious myself but I do find religion interesting.
What exactly did Ben say that Steve thought he had no right to say?

Dave wasn't even bringing religion into it, by calling someone a demon/devil, I do that and I'm not in any way religious fgs, Caoimhe needs to wind her neck in, it's not like Dave was forcing his views down her throat.
All Ben said was that if foriegn policy had been different at the time then the second world war could maybe have been avoided, and now we've got people calling him a Nazi sympathiser and that he defended Hitler ffs

Ben has just reiterated in the bedroom that he believes people like Goebels were not true Nazis at heart - which is repugnant and insulting.

Quaver is a bitch and stupid.
Just cos Dave called him a demon, doesnt mean he was justifying anything and doesnt even mean he was bringing religion into it.
I am not religious but I would describe Hitler as demon also, cos a demon is known for being evil as was Hitler

preaching yeah (eg. Stephen Baldwin style) but just stating their opinions on it wouldn't bother me
