Miley Cyrus criticised for NOT being homophobic

The American Family Association have reacted to a statement made by Miley Cyrus implying she is pro-homosexuality and labelled her 'not the positive role model she was once thought to be'.

In a recent interview with the star regarding the closing track on her current LP 'Can't Be Tamed' entitled My Heart Beats For Love which she claimed to have written after being inspired by her gay make up artist, Cyrus said:

Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile. Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy 'cause he's gay and that is wrong and very sad. Like I said, everyone deserves to be happy. God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving. I am a Christian and I love you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God's children.

American Family Association reacted:

Such statements will send the wrong message to our children who are influenced by this teenage megastar. Parents need to realize that Cyrus is not the positive role model she was once thought to be.... Clearly she is confused and does not understand the Bible.

The depressing part is just how powerful the American Family Association is. They are a very influential lobbying organization, especially in the House of Representatives. Expect to see them getting their own way if the Republicans get back in power.

They in NO way represent american families with their disgustingly ignorant and close-minded views on family. Disgusting. You do realize that the gay rights movement as we know it today BEGAN in America, right? You know that the rainbow flag you see at gay pride parades all around the world now, you realize that flag is American right and came FROM the AMERICAN gay rights movement?

Please stop being so xenophobic against Americans, because it's very disrespectful to the many AMERICANS that have created the gay rights movement, and have fought and died for gay rights around the world.

You could hear much worse said about gay people at any local English pub than what that christian family orgnization said in their press release.
