in the news of the world today it said there is going to be a cleb Survivor on August 24 for two weeks here more:

SEVEN brave celebs will be cast away in a jungle hellhole facing attack by monster crocs, venomous snakes, deadly spiders...and a dragon called Christine Hamilton.
The 52-year-old wife of disgraced Tory MP Neil is one of the favourites to star in ITV's survival show, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Christine and six others will be marooned in a remote rainforest near Tully in Northern Queensland, Australia, for two weeks, from August 24.

Also tipped for selection are busty model Melinda Messenger, chirpy chappie DJ Tony Blackburn, society girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, former boxer Nigel Benn, hypnotist Paul McKenna, former EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman, lesbian comic Rhona Cameron and foul-mouthed Irish funnyman Ed Byrne.

An insider on the show revealed: "There are nine celebrities in the frame to appear in the show at moment. But that will be knocked down to just seven in a few days when programme makers decide exactly who they want."

The seven survivors will leave their lives of luxury far behind when they are flown to Oz on a 271/2 hour flight in August. They will have just 48 hours to acclimatise before the challenge begins.

In temperatures averaging 30°C and intense humidity the contestants will have to build their own shelters, hunt for food and complete a series of gruelling tasks.

ITV will screen a one-hour show every day during the fortnight and after the fourth night, viewers will start to vote off the weakest celebs. The winner will donate a cash prize to the charity of their choice.

Viewers will also be able to reward contestants who perform particularly well in their tasks. The insider said: "All the celebs are going to have all of life's comforts stripped away from them.

"And each day, they are going to have to take part in exhausting tasks. How people like Melinda and Christine will cope is anyone's guess."

The grim location has been used before—for the American Survivor 2 series. An insider on the Australian production team said: "We aren't being told much at the moment, apart from that it is 40 minutes from Tully, a small backwater south of Cairns in the Queensland rainforest.

"It's very hot and it will be near the rainy season, so humidity will be intense. There are seawater crocodiles. Locals never swim in the water."

The only guarantee given to the stars is that they will be back in Britain by September 11.

In one piece, they hope!

Paul mckenna is not going to be in the celeb version he has to much other work on so Nell McAndrew replaces him. Melinda Messenger has also been taken of the list and will be replaced by Darren Day :wavey:

Well spotted, Amy!

Christine Hamilton, Nigel Benn, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Darren Day, Rhona Cameron, Nell McAndrew, Uri Geller and Tony Blackburn will all be flown out to an isolated camp in the Australian Outback on August 24.

The eight will spend a fortnight surviving on basic rations such as rice and water, with one being voted off by the public every other day.
I think my money would be on Nigel Benn ...... and woe betide anyone who picked a fight with him!!

Sounds great though, and it'll certainly keep us occupied here on the forum arguing over who should be voted off next! :spin:

There's quite a funny article in today's News of the World (http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/showbiz/showbiz2.html) - apparently Christine's causing havoc and the show hasn't even started yet!

If this is anything to go by, this programme's going to be extremely 'eventful'!!!

It should be good, it's something to watch anyway which has the Survivor and bb theme. Only problem is which puts me off is Christine Hamilton :bawling: and Tara Palmer Tonkinson.

I've never watched "Survivor" so this is completely new to me.

I enjoyed tonight's programme very much and I hate to say it but I have a feeling the girls are going to do better than the boys! I think that sparks will be flying between Uri Geller and Nigel Benn very quickly as they are both such strong characters.

Look forward to tomorrow and the first "ordeal".

I'm impressed with Tara and Christine! I originally thought "Oh god, why are they there? It'll be awful!!!!!" but if the first episode is anything to go on, those two will shine!

Uri Geller - he should at least fit in well with the other snakes in the jungle!
