Steve should be ashamed of himself, great example to his kids eh! Also, how that makes his wife feel? What a dirty old git.

If your partner trust you its ok to have a laugh and even flirt a little bitty with someone else.

I would rather a bit of cringe then a bore fest. It's his issue to deal with the wife when he gets home, his issue, not mine. At least it gives something to talk about, I think it's kinda funny actually.

It should be okay for Steve's wife provided it doesn't turn in to a Marc Bannerman/Cerys Matthews situation. It's just a bit different if his kids are watching

Let's turn that round - "should a 31 year old intelligent, attractive woman persistently drape herself all over a married father of eight, overtly flirting with him, and making innuendos, knowing full well his wife and kids are probably watching?" What a shameless little slapper.

This exactly.

My thoughts added are:
- If Steve were a 41 year old sexy fashionable club promoter with great hair and abs then there would be ZERO discussion or comment about 'perv' and certainly not edited to maximum awkwardness.

- A number of Steve's critics made it very clear that if a male HM wanted to have sex with another male HM this was something 'off-limits' for any criticism or judgment since it was simply their own personal sexual orientation.
OK.
So I'd just ask they apply the same standards here. Even IF Steve has sex with Keeley tomorrow - that is HIS sexuality he was born with and his orientation and lifestyle. You ought not judge him, discriminate against him and certainly not call him derogatory names.
Agreed?

Oh goodness I waited to reply on this post ages ago but I picked up a banned for awhile LOL

Anyway, is it alright for a married man to flirt, it is alright, but it must be highly humiliating for a wife who has stuck by a cripple with no legs, to see her hubby flirt with a hot young blonde and talk about his false likes pumping and vibrating and saying it is not a vibrator, YUK!

Lets just hope Keelely does not have her BB goggles on, and moves swiftly away from Steve. It cannot be a nice feeling at all.

There are little snippets on Steve that shows us if there are more like him in the army, no wonder are on a losing battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Funny how he told Ben he has no rights to talk about the war because he is a politician, DUDE, it is dodgy politicians that have warped minds and send sheeps who will jump off a bridge with no questions asked to war.

He didn't set himself up as 'father role' and never made any claim or acceptance of 'morally upstanding war hero' (whatever insulting thing you think that means),
and,
He is not much older than Keeley or Corin or a few others in there so 'Uncle' seems inappropriate.

btw.. I do agree that he DID find himself a sort of 'father figure' HM by a sort of default position,
but,
No, your idea that he somehow took this position as the father and moral leader and now is 'letting you down' is simply not the case here.

I disagree.... he really does not like Keeley... I think he is trying to show her up for what she is and that is a manipulator. He does not like the fact that she came straight in the house and pronounced herself as 'the baroness'... she is using her sexuality to create the misgivings that you guys are now portraying.
I have to take my view on what I have watched and what I percieve....but thats how I see it at the moment.I might be wrong but will willingly to hold my hands up if proved so...

Oh no.. don't be a hypocrite on this. The basic idea is that people are born with sexual desires and compulsions and they ought not be discriminated or criticized for them and even celebrated.
IF it were true that Steve's sexuality is to desire to have sex with as many different women as possible then that is.. 'who he is' and it is not a 'choice'!
and,
You have no right to criticize this by your own standards and actually you ought to celebrate it and encourage him to be proud of his sexual desires!

Steve is married and has 8 children. Does that not mean anything to you?

It doesn't matter what it means to me or you.
When I said that I thought it was immoral for 2 men to marry you made it clear that by YOUR STANDARDS that was neither here nor there and I ought not put 'my morality' on others,
so,
in this case, be consistent. IF Steve wants to have sex with multiple partners besides his wife then who are YOU to judge him?
Just because YOU decided that is immoral for yourself doesn't mean its immoral for him.
Its just 'his lifestyle' and who are you to enforce your moral standards on him?

I don't find him at all self-righteous! How is he self-righteous? Older hms are usually less inclined to put up with some of the childish, selfish antics of some of the younger ones - but why single him out!

Well we do see different things. Females tend to be more offended by his behaviour.

I know his kind and people like that ALWAYS justify their behaviour, but I tell you what, I would not like to be his wife; I would be mortified by his grabing hands and creepy stares and I would also hate to be an object of his desire.

I am not wrong by saying I don't like the feeling he gives me when I see or him him, he turns my stomach and I'm not interested in his age, his disabilities, tattoos, shaved head, marital status etc.... What did you think of JJ(original)s antics in bed last night where he was pretending loudly in the darkenned bedroom that Josie was playing with him:conf:

does steve cuddle more or less than the other guys? yes from what i see cos he waits till the female intiates it which i would have thought would make it far more acceptable. I havent noticed him being particularly "grabby"

I agree about Nathan, but he is gone.
In any event, this is a thread about Steve.
I personally don't like him, it is not justified by comparing him to other less-irritating house-mates.
It's foolish to think that just cos I am responding to a thread about one house-mate that I think he is the worst house-mate, or other the house-mates behaviour is fine. I will just be happy when he leaves, and I will be quite happy when they are all up, or if he gets nominated cos I believe he thinks he walks on water (no pun intended).

I am female, and a feminist at that, but I see nothing wrong with Steve's behaviour - and neither did his wife!

I think sub-consciously a lot of things like his looks, tatoos, shaved head, age, disability etc can affect the way someone views him - even if they don't acknowledge that! Your strong anti feelings towards him are simply not justified by anything he has acutally done - which would suggest other factors are involved!

Also when you said 'you know his kind' - suggests you have a bias against him and the type of person you think he is - which has to be affected by the way he looks, in my opinion!

Bla bla bla ... you spout a lot of dribble.

I am entitled to my opinion.
And right now you are a close second to Steve!
I have given more than enough reasons why I don't like him but it is clear as the over-reaction to everything I say that you disagree, so why don't you put a sock in it, and put a lid on your do-gooder attitude and agree to disagree.

You are getting way to worked up about all this, is he your husband? No!

So open a can of shut the **** up and crawl back under your rock already!

My point was targeting his personality and moving away from the all apparent injuries which 'some' people are obsessed are the only reason why he could be disliked.

His kind: typical creep who can always justify their actions as being a naughty boy.
